Does any other creative find their self worth feels incredibly tied to their work when it’s bad but has no positive impact on their self worth when it’s good? Obviously bad and good are subjective, but I think if you’re proficient enough in your field you can have a mildly objective lens, too.

A bright silver bracelet made up of a chain of rugged textured pebbles closed by a sinuous rugged “S” hook clasp.

A pair of short solid gold earrings featuring inverse-set black spinel gemstones surrounded by textured metal and suspended from rugged pebble-like studs.

A sinuous elegant snake ring crafted from bright textured sterling silver with two black diamond eyes. The tail is in the snakes mouth; inspired by the ouroboros, but instead of completing a singular solid circle the snake’s body winds in curves, reminding us that the path forward is rarely in a straight line.

Lately the horrors are plentiful, but if you stop and stare into this beautiful sunset coloured opalescent sapphire a minute it might just give you momentary respite. This is truly one of my favourite ring projects I’ve completed for the year and it’s only March. Thank you Monique!

As a neglectful reader during the pandemic I’m making a concerted effort to read at least 15 books this year. I got in 14 books in 2024 (my plan was at least one a month) and probably only about 6 in 2023 (which is why I started my resolution in the first place).
