Yep! Can confirm. While I will get a ring once I finally graduate, our profession isn’t protected the same way and people who never got an engineering degree will call themselves software engineers. Though in Quebec, it’s far more regulated on the usage of “engineer” so people need to be careful.

The City of Paris is setting the example on not tolerating intolerance. After initially announcing the city’s Pride March happening on October 3rd, their post received a barrage of hateful comments. The municipality sent the comments to the courts and promptly deleted them from the post afterwards

Exactly! Mount Sinai NY here actually has a duty to provide this care under the state’s law of non-discrimination. AG Letitia James said she was potentially going to bring a case against NYU Langone for doing the same thing. I can only hope that Mount Sinai will also have to face the courts for it

This is my personal experience. Don’t take this as anything universal. There are as many experiences as there are Trans people. But I’ve just come to a point where even trying to remember what was before is difficult. I’ve always just been me, Alice, the woman you see and know here.

Screenshot of my own post that says: For a long time, I used to say that in transition, I was the same person, just with a different coat of paint.

However, I fundamentally feel and live differently than I was. Yes, my past trauma and experiences colour who I am today. But I do genuinely see my pre-transition self and cannot, for the life of me, recognize that person.
Nor do I remember much of it.
The longer time passes, the less I recognize the person in old photos and handful of memories.

Today, I’m simply Alice.

And even with screenings for levels, every body is different. Someone could be in the average levels, yet for their particular body, that could be too high and still cause those issues.
