Silo art, Bute, South Australia.

A colour photo of a painted silo with dry grass and a small tree in the foreground. The sky in the background is bright and clear blue.
The art depicts a person with long brown hair standing next to a bicycle. They are wearing a patterned blue dress. There is a blue-green bird on their shoulder. There’s a large gum tree arching over them and the sky in the background is a mix of orange, pink and blue.

This excellent potato pancake recipe is from an old magazine. I make these using tinned potatoes, I’m not sure if that’s why they turn out so well? Tinned potatoes are small but firmer and easier to grate than home cooked potatoes, (Woolworths home brand are good). Recipe text is in the alt text.

A colour photo of a recipe from a magazine showing four golden brown potato pancakes on a bed of green and purple lettuce leaves. The text of the recipe is included on the bottom of the page, it reads:

1 cup self raising flour.
1 egg.
1 and a half cups milk.
400g potatoes cooked & grated.
2 bacon rashers chopped & cooked or sliced smoked salmon.
1 cup tasty cheese grated.
Quarter cup spring onions sliced.
Seasoning.
Butter for frying.
Sour cream for serving.

In a bowl whisk an egg into the flour slowly incorporating the milk until a smooth batter has formed. Fold through the cooked grated potato, cheese, bacon/smoked salmon and spring onions. Add seasoning to taste.

Heat a heavy based frying pan with a tablespoon of butter. Add spoonfuls of potato batter to the frypan, cook for four minutes, turn the pancake with an egg flip and cook for a further four minutes.

Serve with a dollop of sour cream on top.

In this recipe we have used precooked potatoes from the supermarket.

Saw this recently and loved it, my photos don’t do it justice, it was really spectacular. This is two sides of the same silo.

A colour photo of silo art with a cloudy sky background. A chocolate coloured kelpie is painted sitting at the bottom, sheep to it’s right, and big green leafy eucalyptus trees painted behind the dog and sheep. The trees span the full height of the silo. There’s also a soaring bird painted flying away from the top of the painted trees. There’s some short dark green shrubs in the foreground of the photo which accentuate the green of the painted trees.

A colour photo of a painted silo with dry grass and a grey tin shed at the base of the photo. The painting is of two brown, tan and white eagles, their wings spread wide as they soar over green painted eucalyptus trees, painted almost to the full height of the silo.

Exhibit C - The SA Liberals leader.

A colour photo of Vincent Tarzia sitting in the back of a car. The car has cream coloured leather seats. Vincent is wearing a navy suit and striped blue tie. He is seated, manspreading. He has a grim smirk on his face with one raised eyebrow. He has slicked back dark hair, a long forehead, and has a v-shaped point in his hairline in the centre of his forehead like Dracula.

We finally made it over your way recently. Loved it. The wind and the smell of the ocean was so strong, it was magic, the dog loved it so much she was howling at the sea.

A colour photo of the ocean. The sky is blue with no clouds. The sea is greenish blue with white breaking waves near the shore. There is no sand. The shoreline is made of flat, wide brown, orange and tan rocks framed by small green scrub plants.

Hard to believe I bought this hat last week, have worn it twice, and no one has said ‘omg I love your hat’.

A colour photo of a Camilla wide brim sun hat on an oak table. The pattern is a mix of teal blue, navy blue, cream, tan and brown. The pattern design is kind of retro, Pucci looking, with little stars and swirls and lines of colour.
