Two of my class’s texts so far this semester have focused on the importance of naps and I think that’s Very Good Praxis.

We are but two weeks into the semester and, between the writing center, tutors, and classes, at no point have I been caught up on grading.

My article on Winter’s Tale and The Lady’s Tragedy is online! It’s the idea that made it out of the group chat: this article builds on conversations I had @memsunikent.bsky.social about bodies in performance, & in the #WTWatchParty during COVID lockdowns, & now it’s out in the world! #EarlyModern

All of my students did the reading and while it is only our second day of class, I am choosing to believe this is a “start as you mean to go on” situation.

There’s a big project that’s been on my to-do list for 47 weeks, according to Google Tasks, because I’m short-staffed and constantly having to re-prioritize, BUT! Today my student worker and I finished it and it’s OFF THE LIST!

So incredibly depressing to sit through a product demo and hear that we should be excited to build a “history tutor” bot for use with an LLM, because how else will we help students engage in productive struggle on demand? I run the Tutoring program.

I had the best time in Silence on Stage #Shax2026 — such a wide-ranging discussion of the connections between all of our papers! We covered the plays we wrote about, the plays we’ve been thinking about, & the plays that we would write about now (by way of Monty Python and Reduced Shakespeare, obvs).

Kristi Noem being fired, if that is in fact what happens, will not get to the root of the problem, and it’s putting all the blame on a woman. That said it shows that Trump still cares about being embarrassed and humiliated. We do have power, even if it doesn’t feel like it all the time.
