The Great Techbro Ai Theft continues. Never a bad day to delete everything Meta.
“News publishers have until 30 October to decide whether to leave Meta social
platforms such as Facebook and Instagram or hand over over AI content access to the tech giant under new terms and conditions.
The social media giant has given notice of updated terms and conditions which give it sweeping rights to scrape content from any publisher that uses Instagram and Facebook and reuse it.
It means that by using Meta platforms, publishers risk handing over Al rights to all their content - whether it is published via Meta or elsewhere.”

No shaking here at all but all the alarms went off. Including outside, in the neighbourhood. 9.9? Hopefully an error in the system. Because that would be the biggest in history. Another alarm now…

The primary school across the road from us, where all our kids went, is being demolished and rebuilt. This pile of rubbish is now all that’s left of all the trees that were around the perimeter. This, sadly, is the norm here. At a time when we need more trees, this city consistently destroys them.

September of 2011. A weekend getaway in Karuizawa with the family. First we’d really had since the 3/11 quake. Drove Joe and Ami out to see the sunrise. Loads of cabbage fields. Mountains in back. Used the reflection on the roof of the car to create some interest in the bottom of the frame.

This - plus their abhorrent plan to livestream an execution - should be the final wake-up call for the world. That the US has gone 100% rogue. Along with Israel, that is. Because their commentary on this Nobel award is unequivocally unhinged and deeply offensive.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry’s official response to the awarding of Nobel Peace Prize to Navi Pilay:

“Israel Foreign Ministry: If there were an award for lies, hatred, and blood libels, Navi Pillay wouldn't just be a contender. She'd be a frontrunner.

Her role in the relentless, politically motivated demonization of Israel and promotion of the anti-Israel hatred and prejudice.

Now that the Nobel commission has rewarded the biggest lie of the 21st century, Joseph Goebbels is certainly applauding from hell.”

おはようございます。東京は今日は晴れていて、本当にありがたいです。ここ最近はどんよりとした日が続いていたので、この日差しは心からの活力源となっています。 日常の美しい光景を2枚、皆さんにお届けします。今回も、@heliographe.studioの「65x24」アプリで撮影しました。

A colour photograph made in 65x24 aspect ratio with the 65x24 app by Heliographe Studio. We see a Toyota minivan parked in a car park in Tokyo. It's the only car in the scene. The rear wall of the car park is higher than the car, extends out of the top of the frame of the photo and is a deep yellow colour. On that wall is a sign in Japanese explaining some of the rules of the car park, which is operated by a company called Times. A colour photograph made in 65x24 aspect ratio with the 65x24 app by Heliographe Studio. The photo is of a single bicycle, stood against a wall opposite me. On the road can be see the "ma" character in Japanese hiragana script. It's the middle of the word to-ma-re, which means "Stop". The wall is a sort of cream colour. In it are four windows, right above where the bike is parked. They are blocked off by alternating panels of green and light brown material.

This part of the Herald Sun’s article on the Fairford arrests will end up being the most pertinent, imho. This and the fact they’ve been bailed. Terrorist suspects found with explosives would not be bailed. These guys, imho, are diesel thieves. Which makes Trump’s comments even more amusing.
From the Herald Sun about the RAF Fairford arrests:

“One of the vans had the words "FUEL2YOU" in red lettering on its side and a phone number registered to an area code 250km away in Sheffield in England's north.
The number appeared to be one digit short and was not recognised when called by reporters. The company name did not return any search results on Google, nor did it appear on a public register of UK companies.

Fuel2U, a company that delivers diesel anywhere in the UK within 24-48 hours, firmly rejected any connection with the suspected plot.

The fuel delivery company said on its website: "We are extremely concerned that our company's name have been used without our knowledge or permission ...”From the Herald Sun article:

“Trump responds to release
US President Donald Trump has reacted with bewilderment at the release of the five men.
"I'm surprised they released them, I wouldn't have," he said in the Oval Office on Monday, US time.
"We know everything about them, we would not have released them.
But he said the UK authorities had been
"very good".
It's not clear how much information Mr Trump does indeed have on the suspects and
- if the same situation had occurred in the
US - if he would be able to keep the men locked up.”
