Screenshot of a WIRED post on X dated 6/11/26. The text reads “Activists raised a 40-foot-tall inflatable Elon Musk in Manhattan to draw attention to the risk he allegedly allegedly poses to investors.” The photo shows a large shirtless inflatable figure meant to resemble Elon Musk towering over Times Square, with writing on its stomach referencing SpaceX’s Grok and AI. The article headline reads “Massive Effigy of Elon Musk Raised Over Times Square to Pro…”Screenshot of a Grok ad on X (formerly Twitter). Post #9 (2:23 PM) by TheJosh (Registered User, Phoenix, Arizona, age 35, joined May 2008, 251 posts): Quoting a user named Justin-27 who wrote "7x in 2 weeks = 3.5 times a week, genius. And yeah, 3x a week, full body workouts are good." TheJosh replies: "I never said anything about going exactly 7 times, like I said, if I go every other day, that is 4 DAYS A WEEK. How hard is that to comprehend? Week 1 - Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Week 2 - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday. 8 DAYS IN 2 WEEKS. In your terms, 8x in 2 weeks = 4 times a week, genius. All Muscle and No Brains? lol"
Post #10 (3:25 PM) by steviekm3 (Registered User, age 49, joined April 2008, 240 posts): Quotes TheJosh's entire previous post, then responds: "You double counted Sunday - that is 2 weeks plus 1 day. Did you fail grade 2 math? PLUS your old post said 4 or 5 times a week. Now you just neglect to mention the 5. Grow up and admit when you are wrong. Believe me you will get a a lot further in life this way."

It still absolutely boggles the mind why any company would advertise on X, where there's a good chance your ad for a high protein menu is right under an AI video of Charlie Kirk arguing with Jeffrey Epstein
An X post featuring an AI-genereated Jeffrey Epstein calling Charlie Kirk a lab experiment sits right above a Chipotle ad for its "double high protein bowl"

How the Washington Post describes Zero Units vs. @propublica.org’s actual investigation.
Mobile screenshot of a news article with the headline, ‘After service in CIA-trained unit, alleged National Guard shooter struggled to adapt in U.S.’ The subhead describes Rahmanullah Lakanwal as an elite ‘counterterrorism fighter’ in Afghanistan working alongside U.S. forces; the phrase ‘counterterrorism fighter’ is highlighted with blue text-selection handles.Mobile screenshot of a ProPublica article on a dark background. A paragraph of white text describes an Afghan woman, Mahzala, watching masked gunmen question her adult sons, pin them against a courtyard wall, then shoot them in the head one by one, including the youngest who is shot again after surviving the first bullet.

Well, Google's whole Gemini SynthID AI detector is certainly not working. AND a hallucinated interview!
Here is a descriptive alt text for the image:

"A screenshot of an AI chat interface on a dark background. At the top right is a photo of Canadian interviewer Nardwuar the Human Serviette, wearing a plaid suit and hat, holding a vinyl record next to Taylor Swift, who is wearing a floral dress and cardigan and laughing with her hand over her mouth. Below the photo is a user bubble reading '@synthid'.

The AI response below is titled 'Analysis' with a blue sparkle icon. The text reads: 'I was unable to detect a SynthID watermark in the image. The photo features the Canadian interviewer Nardwuar the Human Serviette (in the plaid suit) and pop star Taylor Swift. The image is a promotional photo or still from their famous interview, which took place in 2013 during the time of her Red album era.' Several interaction icons (thumbs up, thumbs down, copy) are visible at the bottom."

Which is false, for the record.

Yoooo @murderxbryan.bsky.social, Ryan Lizza hit Olivia Nuzzi with a Guys classic
An excerpt from a Ryan Lizza post about Olivia Nuzzi: I can still picture the hotel paper and reporting notepads spilling into the walk-in closet, where a year earlier I had spent an afternoon on my knees carefully arranging scores of her boots, high heels, sneakers, and slippers on an enormous shoe rack.

Screenshot of a Reddit post from r/ChatGPT by user Zyaraa with the title: “I asked chatgpt to enhance the only picture of my grandfather smiling and it turned him into Mandela. What did I do wrong?” The post is tagged “Gone Wild.” Below, there is a screenshot of ChatGPT’s response saying it will enhance the image by reducing graininess, sharpening features, and improving resolution while preserving his smile. It is a very scary time to be a brown guy in America
A tweet from the official Homeland Security (@DHSgov) account reads: “Remember your Homeland’s Heritage. New Life in a New Land – Morgan Weistling.” Below the text is a painting titled New Life in a New Land by Morgan Weistling. The painting shows a white pioneer family inside a covered wagon. A woman in a blue dress cradles a baby while a man in a wide-brimmed hat gently supports them both. Outside, a prairie landscape stretches toward distant mountains with a wagon and a lone figure in the background. The scene is warmly lit and idealized in a 19th-century settler style. The tweet was posted at 5:42 PM on July 14, 2025, and has 409K views.

Meta's Community Notes is so, so bad. This AI slop is an absolute layup, and the system can't get it, or any similar ones, tagged with a crowdsourced fact-check. Meta's system is not transparent, and can't even catch AI. The two positive things about X's Community Notes.
A Facebook post from "The Marvel & DC Multiverse" featuring a collage of four images showing sunburned individuals with exaggeratedly red, shiny skin on a beach. The caption claims it's a "Sunburn Competition in New Orleans." The images appear unnatural, and the post has thousands of reactions, comments, and shares.
A screenshot from Meta's Community Notes feature, showing the same Facebook post about a "Sunburn Competition in New Orleans." Below the post, a correction note clarifies that there is no such competition and that the images are AI-generated. The note warns the post spreads false and divisive information and links to a Reuters fact-check.

X is just 4Chan, and crowdsourced fact-checking there is a monumental failure. Or does it say something about where we're heading that liberals and conservatives cannot find consensus that the Holocaust occurred? This is not the first X Holocaust denial I've seen that had multiple failed Notes.
Screen grab of a post on X. Stew Peters video claims falsely that gas chambers have been debunked. A Community Note has not gained enough consensus to be appended to the obvious and extremely antisemitic lie.

Seth Rogen, wearing a brown suit and glasses, looks on with a bewildered and slightly concerned expression.
