Greatest trick AI leaders have pulled is convincing many people—especially influential people in govt, media, and business—that their software is intelligent, independent, yet never culpable. Humans build it, humans deploy it, but no one bears responsibility for the things that happen when they do.

The reason that in How to Train Your Dragon the adults have a Scottish accent while the kids have Americans accents is because the Vikings sailed to Scotland in 793 but only later around 1000 went to America

Customizable selects are so 2025. Now is the time for styleable multi-thumb range controls! Great work by @utilitybend.com and Open UI. The <rangegroup> element is being prototyped in Chromium by our team. Can't wait to play with it, which you can do with: brechtdr.github.io/enhanced-ran...

Radial range control with 2 thumbs, allowing to select a range between 0 and 100. The selected range is 25 to 75.

I think another lesson to take from the loss of both Dolly and Tim Curry is that neither of them took themselves seriously but they took the work dead serious that's the most important thing pour all of yourself into the craft but have fun and don't get an ego.

Ha, must be a lot of milk to cool it down enough to need to reheat it. Normally I don't mind waiting for mine to cool but when traveling and needing to walk while drinking it means leaving the lid on so it takes foreverrrr to cool

Wait do people put milk in their coffee just so it's cool enough to start drinking immediately when they order it? I like mine black and usually make it at home but I'm starting to suspect the milk thing is just a clever trick so you don't have to wait 20 minutes before you can start drinking it

Last night I saw a musical that I'm fairly certain was largely written by AI. Incredibly derivative, one-dimensional characters, sudden, odd behaviors, predictable plot progression, just...oof, painful. But the performances were fairly good and most other people seemed to enjoy it? So weird.
