My marathon takeaway atp is that its an incredibly cool game aesthetically and also in the things its doing w its gameplay (I love what night marsh does to facilitate more stealth options) but I feel so hollow afer playing it in that familiar Destiny 2 way. might be burned out on loot chases

One of the bigger mistakes I think people make online is when they point out a paradox in group/mob/population behavior (I.e. how could [community] claim to believe X while also doing Y?) but are in fact talking about completely different groups of people

There have been two occasions in my career where I had to go to war with teammates against mistaken understandings of probability. In both cases, it was because people expected large numbers of d6s to occasionally result in maximum damage. But the curves for 3d6 and 15d6 (e.g.) look like this:

i've had so many of these working on imsims. my first was the guards in my stealth game who could hear each other's footsteps and if they didn't already know roughly where the other guy was they would investigate each other and be surprised to see each other. in first person this looks like nothing

Through that lens, it's helpful to read steam store descriptions and see who combines features with the benefit. Balatro describes "adrenaline-pumping" combos. They've folded in how it will make you feel! Big Walk doesn't say explore, it says "get lost with close friends." That is so! Emotional!!
