The time is now for community energy! Last Saturday me and Cllr Ruth Abbey attended the Places of Worship Energy Resource (Sheffield POWER) launch event, hosted by Sheffield Community Energy. It was fantastic to be part of such a positive event!

The media are struggling with the idea of internal democracy in the Green Party. I had people who support Zack ask me to run because they know there has to be a contest for a healthy democracy! But the media seems to think that a healthy democratic debate represents some sort of crisis.

(6/11) So I object to monopole applications on pavements/footways because they reduce the width of the footpath available. And can obstruct people, stopping them from getting from place to place safely. Compromising the footpath's purpose isn’t just an inconvenience - it puts people at risk…

4/7 And there’s more to the problem. They are actively making things worse for the city, compounding inequalities in health and wealth. These digital billboards are concentrated mostly in lower-income areas. Residents & businesses aren’t notified of the plans, so don’t have chance to comment…

2/7 ….put in 31 objections to new applications for these. Sheffield already has 926 digital advertising sites (billboards, bus shelter ads, free-standing screens). They look awful, but worse, they clutter up pavement space, getting in the way of pedestrians, mobility scooters, pushchairs…
