🚨 New Report 🚨 An estimated 300,000 New Jerseyans may lose health coverage starting in 2027 — all because of complicated paperwork processes. New Medicaid work requirements mean nearly 540,000 residents will need to navigate onerous documentation and renewal processes. www.njpp.org/publications...

Open question: when politicians say things like “people who use Facebook to oppose data centers are hypocrites because they’re using those same data centers,” do you think they’re being purposely misleading or are they really that ignorant?

From a reliable source this morning (pastor of the Reformed Church of Highland Park):
Seth Kaper-Dale (posting time around 9:20am, 2 September)

An hour ago ICE pulled over a car on or near Rt. 130, in North Brunswick. They smashed the guy's window, trying to get him out. He fled. A chase ensued. It ended in a car accident that involved the wife of the East Brunswick mayor. I believe the wife sustained minor injuries. I have no idea (yet) what happened to the man who was being chased.

ICE must be held accountable for its crimes of attempting to kidnap our neighbors and causing unbelievable danger on our roads. Someone needs to go to jail--and it isn't the immigrant who was just trying to drive to work.

peace, seth

Raiding funds intended for clean energy projects hinders the state's ability to make utility rates more affordable for New Jerseyans. “If all this money is used for ratepayer relief, we’re losing the ability to reign in prices long-term,” said @alexfromnj.bsky.social. www.nj.com/politics/202...

N.J. may empty this vital fund to cut electric bills. You’ll pay a steep price later, critics say.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s energy cost crackdown could provide relief but is sparking fierce debate over whether the approach will backfire in the long run.

Admittedly a huge failing of NJ state parks: virtually none of them are even close to being accessible by transit, despite all being accessible by car. Expanding our transit system to serve deserts like Sussex and Burlington would be useful in so many ways!
