now i'm imagining a comedy skit where nomax frantically keeps making new accounts, but they just keep immediately getting 5k+ followers every time. hijinks ensue as he tries everything in his power to keep them secret and unappealing to follow, but he is simply TOO cursed with success.

Catsaro head? Asaro cat! (Just realised I never actually posted this here – I’ve been doing some lighting studies in my absence, maybe this can help someone else! 🫡) #furry #furryart #warriorcats #arttips

A greyscale lighting study, depicting a sphere for reference, a value scale, and the stylised head of a cat with all the planes of the face, similar to the human Asaro Head.

On that note, never send money via family & friends – PayPal (and other processors) offer buyer protection and you ARE a buyer, so don’t let anyone guilt trip you into forfeiting that right. Charging upfront is the artist’s most common security measure against scams, and buyer protection is yours.

Lower contrast version... still trying to decide what I like better for my art, but I think I'm concluding that I gotta chill with the saturation when I pick colours lmao #furry #furryart

Ohhh I see, I didn’t know that’s a v2 feature! I feel that though, I was using photoshop CS5 all the way up until like 2020 lol, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Especially when upgrading would mean moving to subscription-based. I’m glad your v1 still works! :)

Oh, in case you ever wanna check how long a piece took you in hours, I think CSP has an option to see the work time for the canvas somewhere! :)

The limping and missing toes that many pigeons have are almost always because of stringfoot – they get tangled up in string or human hair on the ground and it tightens. If you spot loose string lying around, picking that up can help keep their feet safe! 🩶🐦

alexeven @alexeven.bsky.social · 24/10/2025

I had pigeons nest on my balcony a couple months ago, and watching them grow up is the cutest thing 😭😭 one of those babies now lives with a friend of mine as a rescue, because his leggie wasn't growing right, so he had to be taken to the vet for surgery. all worked out and he's thriving now!! 🥹💕

alexeven @alexeven.bsky.social · 24/10/2025

dude teenage pigeons are so cute!! did you know they also go through a voice crack? baby pigeons don't coo like adult ones, they have a high-pitched squeak, so at some point after they fledge their voice will start cracking and they sound incredibly stupid (affectionate)

REAL!! I ended up having to make it myself (went deep into the settings for one of the default brushes lol) but it’s literally made my entire process SO much more enjoyable Having a holy grail brush >>>

OH, I just looked it up to make sure, and it turns out I used the word incorrectly LOL. Also not a native speaker here, oops. What I meant is that bringing this up can come across like I’m just saying this to be condescending to them, but it really is a well-established statistic.

And if you rely on being better than someone else for some characteristic they can’t change (therefore a superiority that no one can take away from you, because you’re born with it), equality suddenly becomes very threatening to your sense of self-worth.

000

alexeven @alexeven.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

Yup, pretty much. Bringing this point up always sounds like being glib, but there have been a number of studies about what correlates with right-wing rhetoric – and people like that are statistically very likely to have pretty abysmal self-esteem. Hate gives them someone to feel “better than”.

210

alexeven @alexeven.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

Oh no, nothing to apologise for! I wasn’t criticising you, sorry if it came off that way. It was more meant as encouragement – I get the frustration, but can’t let the bastards win y’know?

110

alexeven @alexeven.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

If we give up on words and accept the shitty redefinitions bigots give to them, that’ll only lead to a game of chicken where we have to keep inventing new terms for the same things. Feminism STILL means that. Misogynists and TERFs aren’t the authority who gets to decide what it means. 🫶🏻

000

alexeven @alexeven.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

IMO this mindset leads to a game you can’t win. This has happened to social justice, to woke, to body positivity, to DEI… the words aren’t the problem. To bigots and trolls, the concept of respecting people is the issue, and they’ll do their best to discredit that no matter what we call it.
