Yay my little travel app got approved - I had issues remembering where I went when I was journaling about the day. Turns out my camera roll knew quite well so built an app around it with my agents. Pirate explorer themed obviously…

I‘m on a nice cycle streak everyday through the heatwave so far. The secret is leaving at 6:30 and which saves me from the worst heat although I get in today at 11 where it’s already 36 C/97 F. But today is peak day. Been able to watch these grow amazingly fast - feels like two weeks to this size.

Can we make @aaronfrancis.com an offer he can't resist to release a linux version of Solo soon(er)? Just saying ...
The best image I could get out of ChatGPT for a pyramid of Coke Zero that might entice Aaron D Francis.

Poor Hippos! I mean Puzzles, sure I get it, they attack, but what's a Hippo ever done... In more serious news: buy the book, mine is on it's way. Deciding what to build in the age where features are just a prompt away needs a good framework.

OMG - a Tiki Bar flashback! I still have their merch cups in the office from wayback. 2005 seems so long ago. And of course been enjoying Diggnation since they came back (in a only slightly more adult way 😉).

But there are still things I do out of habit from 6 months ago that thankfully aren't as necessary any more - but habits die hard, even if they were learnt so quickly in relative terms.
Queuing up the same "keep going" prompt 3 times so that it will not stop.

I've added a special "Copy LLM prompt" to my error messages (when I run in dev mode) which not only has a basic "replicate this in e2e then fix it" prompt but also appends a bunch of technical data, breadcrumbs for my last 10 steps etc. Quite a productivity boost...

And for comparison this was (near) Vienna this morning (but I doubt it has changed in the meantime).

I am so grateful my biz lets me do crazy things like go from a completed foggy Vienna four hours by train to the west of the country to ride my bike for a few hours and then head back for another four. Totally worth it - especially with SAD. And even got support tickets done on the train!

Recently got back into stamp collecting and I’ve realized it’s one of the few areas where it’s quite easy to get your hand on items from a long gone era. This one’s about 150y old - a very different world for the original owner. But I’ve still yet to cross the 2 century mark though…

Second to last day on the final stretch of my midlifecycle.com from Dublin to Vienna. On the first two parts I was blessed with awesome weather. On the last part, not so much. Weather forecast was completely wrong, but nothing some extra layers can't fix. At least it's dry. Onward!

With all the AI talk, this is the point that isn’t talked about enough. Where is the next generation of seniors going to get their start? I fondly remember the amount of things I learnt from our seniors at my first job. It was invaluable for my career. /ht @thepanel.bsky.social

Seems I may have summoned the "virtual" Lianna Patch one too many times? Is "Full Patch Mode" trademarked @punchlinecopy.com ? (And yes, it came up with that phrase all by itself...)

Left political ad for Conservative-isch Party. Right bank ad: reads „What will the future bring?“ Makes me wonder if it’s a coincidence or deliberate positioning…

Yeah, but I feel you can make a case for some things if it's combined with a really long session lifetime. Say a video course for example. But definitely not for something that I have to login every. single. day. Was surprised though yesterday to read this saying they are more secure than user/pwd

Case in point. This is based on a holiday snap (looks nothing like me, neither the comic nor this one), but it seems the filter regards this as different enough from a certain IP than the one above.

Bad whip is fine, but good whip is copyright infringement. Can someone explain? Prompt: chatgpt.com/share/67ef65... In reference to theaiunderwriter.substack.com/p/an-image-o...
A GPT prompt showing the result of a image generation resembling Indiana Jones with a bad whip and the prompt to remove it resulting in a content policy violation.

01:30 to go ... Got the basic UIs done and figured out the workflow. Had a look at some other services doing this and there's definitely space for a simple minimal solution, so that's what I'm going with. Here we go for #NDCLondon 2025 - first tech conference in a long time, maybe even a decade? The older I got the less I felt I was getting from them but reflecting on 2024 I’m a little too comfortable in my “home”stack and practices. So looking forward to coming back with new insights and ideas.

Managed to read a lot of books this holiday season and Friendaholic (randomly picked up at the only small bookshop on this island) takes the win. Mix of autobiography and science snippets. Better than Big Friendships which was previously my fav one on the subject. Weirdly comforting feeling now.

I’m amused that all these flights were booked going in/out of Washington 😂 thankfully I’m staying in the city between each so not a problem, but do Washingtonians always have to triple check which airport they’re flying from?

“Age yourself with your first computer.” Depends on the definition of “my” and “computer” I guess. First steps in BASIC on the VTech 2000 that didn’t have writable storage. (Don’t think I played any of the games on it ever.) And then dad brought home a PS/2 and a world of QBasic was unlocked.
