Consider Clausewitz's linkage of military action to political objectives to the US-Israel-Iran War. Iran's goal is to cause enough political and economic instability to force their aggressors to capitulate. The US doesn't appear to have a political objective. Israel is invading Lebanon.

Something I really love about a sandwich (burgers included) is that depending on its orientation while taking a bite you can completely change the flavour and texture, depending on the order of ingredients.

when you have anti-DEI proponents openly going after black military officers for recruiting from HBCUs and suing schools for their black and Hispanic enrollment *even after the schools ended any racial preferences* then the only honest label for these people is "segregationist"

I'm working on a project governed by two ideas. The first is hero worship, or the fetishization of who we think will save us, be it an individual like a billionaire or politician, a class of people like scientists or soldiers, or even an idea such as innovation or egalitarianism. ...1/4

I saw this and thought, "do not besmirch Virgil and Ovid this way" before looking in the comments to realize a different meaning for Muse was being used
