Solar radiation would kill us if we didn’t have earth‘s magnetic field. Did you know Mars’ field has faded? Earth‘s magnetic field is produced by liquid metal flows (convection) in its outer core: hot fluid rising and cooler fluid sinking. It’s like a giant dynamo.

In German, to say simple stuff like "this stands hier", I hanged this thing" or "he is going across to the neighbor" you need to: 1 - think about whether you are talking about a moving or static action 2- sometimes think about whether something is coming towards you or away from you

My wife and I had a debate: is it oossible to live a slow and technology disconnected life in Europe? My take is No: even if you go to a remote place in the mountains, some form of bureaucracy will still need to connect to you. Schooling requirements will expose your child to social media etc.
