THANK YOU to the National Science Teaching Association and Children's Book Council for naming DETECTIVE DOGS an Outstanding Science Trade Book *and* a Best STEM Book for 2026! Thx to @alexace.bsky.social for the photo. 😍 @steamteambooks.bsky.social #dogs #conservationdogs #STEM #STEAM #kidlit

Adorable dog Zelda, dressed like Sherlock Holmes, gazes at the camera while lying next to a copy of DETECTIVE DOGS. In one paw, she holds a magnifying glass while three spotted lanternflies scurry across the floor in front of her. Outstanding Science Trade Book and Best STEM Book seals can be seen on the left.

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.

I’m staying with family in Mexico through the end of the year and hoping to get some much-needed rest. It’s so nice to be able to think of my beautiful country as a refuge, and I grieve all the years I wasted as a teenager feeling ashamed of where I’m from

i mostly don’t miss that bird app, but i’ll concede it was a nice place to receive confirmation via the collective outcry of frustrated fellow captives of the gates empire that outlook really is sh!t and broken and it’s not just me

had such a special night last night celebrating 10 years of #latinxinpublishing — what an inspiring community to be a part of! it’s been a rough couple of weeks and in this moment i very much needed the reminder of why I do this tough job of mine ❤️📚🇲🇽

the last time I was on here I was still an associate editor! hello again. I am joining the post-election 🐦 exodus and will try to be more active on here with news about my books and the HH en español program.

Two incredible books have book birthdays today of all days. They are both very timely, reminding us that science is important and silence in the face of fascism/Nazis is complicity. Vote today! @andreabrownlit.bsky.social @timmccanna.bsky.social @ellaschwartz.bsky.social

another exciting acquisition to announce!! this YA horror GN has everything I love—stunning art, truly unsettling paranormal touches, and thoughtful exploration of underlying queer themes

are we cross-posting everything? is that the move? well, it’s exhausting & I’m no social media marketing pro AND I’m still down with covid, so here’s the 💙☁️ version: blah blah, I was on a podcast discussing a picture book abt the Spanish language that I helped edit, it came out great, check it out
