One of the best things about Zionism is Racism is watching Labour politicians make complete fools of themselves. I’ll care what they think when they can call it a genocide in Palestine.

Is there a problem Andy Burnham doesn't think a Mayor can fix? The problem with our water industry is not oversight - it's companies that have a duty to maximise shareholder value, rather than provide an efficient and effective water system.

Big Gorton & Denton vibes here: yet again Labour supporters simply can’t fathom the amount of activists and campaign the Green Party musters when there is a sniff of victory.

Worcester Tories all fleeing the city because they know they can’t win here. No councillors, no activists, no campaigning. Only one party is working hard year round for the city: @mastodon.green/@worcestergreenparty

If you need proof how out of touch Labour are in Worcester, just look at this. Rather than use an picture of actual real activists in actual real Worcester, they decided that an AI image of almost-people in a Worcester-ish place, with a brochure that sort of says "Worcester" was the way forward.

We are in a climate emergency: disposable anything should be discouraged. Disposable BBQs, which cause fires and destroy our nature spaces should be banned. Hard to believe this is even a question in 2026.

Why didn't Worcester's MP Tom Collins nominate Andy Burnham? I sent this letter into Worcester News almost a month ago, but I'm grateful they've now printed it.
Dear Editor,

I would like to congratulate Andy Burnham MP on winning the Labour leadership contest and becoming our new Prime Minister. To win the nomination of 379 of 403 Labour MPs is an impressive achievement and a strong vote of confidence in his abilities as a leader. I have noted that our Labour MP, Tom Collins, is one of just 24 Labour MPs not to have nominated Andy Burnham - I’m sure his constituents here in Worcester would like to hear his concerns about the new Prime Minister that have led to him withholding his nomination.

Keir Starmer’s former chief of staff has admitted that Labour had no plan for Government after winning the 2024 election. My concern is that by changing Prime Minister mid-term, there is still no long term plan to improve the lives of Worcester constituents, and that Tom Collins knows this too.

We need to urgently see published plans for this Parliament to cut energy bills and improve our energy independence through renewables. We need plans to adapt homes and offices to climate change. We need plans to build council homes and introduce rent controls to deal with the affordability of housing, so that our young people can live good, independent lives in their own homes. We need a plan to strengthen local accountability in planning, not allow developers to destroy nature with no scrutiny.

We were promised change. Where is the plan to deliver it?

Councillor Alex Mace
Worcester Green Party

Antisemitism has no place in our politics. No party is perfect, but I only know of one party that has appointed a convicted antisemite as a candidate, and then had the leader defend that appointment. Mainstreaming people like this makes us all less safe. Kemi Badenoch should resign.

Worcester misses out again in Andy Burnham's blitz of new powers and funding for regional Mayors.
Worcester and other areas that do not yet have regional Mayors are missing out again in the Prime Minister’s announcement that Mayors are getting a share of income tax and a bigger share of business rates.

We need this flexibility now and we cannot afford to wait - Worcester has over 4,000 households on its housing waiting list, and contains some of the most deprived areas in England. Our county council is teetering on the brink thanks to Conservative and Reform mismanagement. It seems Labour are now also showing they don’t care about Worcester.

Stop the obsession with Mayors and give the resources to Worcester and all the parts of the country that need it, now.

It is good news that the new Prime Minister has removed VAT from electricity prices. It shows that he recognises that the cost of living crisis needs urgent action.
It is good news that the new Prime Minister has removed VAT from electricity prices. It shows that he recognises that the cost of living crisis needs urgent action.

However, removing VAT will benefit the most well off and biggest users the most. The £850m cost would have been better spent removing standing charges and providing households with a quota of free energy, so the most in need got the biggest help.

We need to go further and faster on decarbonising our economy. Yet again the Exchequer is spending hundreds of millions protecting people from the costs of fossil fuels. Reports that the Prime Minister will approve more drilling in the North Sea shows a lack of commitment to protecting people from climate damage and high energy costs in the long term.

This is absolutely remarkable. Elections are the only true measure of party support, but this shows the rise of the Greens to second place in the polls, is absolutely real. In Worcester in 2027, and the General Election in 2029, only the Green Party can stop Reform.

News Corp are spreading antisemitism in this country. Silence in the face of this is complicity. There is no level they will not stoop to in order to smear the Green Party to preserve the power and wealth of their owners and their friends. They are afraid and we must win. Hope over hate.

Labour, just like Reform and Tories are in hock to the fossil fuel industry. As BP make billions in profits from high energy prices, and you pay higher bills, our Labour MP is giving a key note address to industry figures. When Labour claim to be greener than the Greens, this demonstrates the truth.

Fossil fuels, or "stupid" fuels, are a national security risk. Currently my car is charging for free, from solar energy. My hot water is heating for free, from solar energy. Renewables keep us safe from dictators and don't get stuck in the Strait of Hormuz.

In 2024, UK billionaire wealth increased by £35m a day, or £12.7bn over the whole year. In the budget, the Labour Government increased taxes on ordinary people by more than that. Why is everyone but multi-millionaires and billionaires being asked to pay more? We need to tax wealth, not work.

This is from Worcestershire County Council’s audit report. Yet they expect us to believe their savings numbers in their One Worcestershire unitary. They have zero credibility. It is time for new thinking and two unitaries to transform Worcestershire.
Highlight quote: “The Council is not identifying and delivering savings in line with the scale of its budget requirements”

Reform’s leader of Worcestershire County Council thinks a day of democracy is too much like hard work. Perhaps she could spend some of the almost £55,000 a year we pay her on someone to look after her dogs. These meetings are in the calendar. If you don’t want to do the job, resign.
