The plot was that the villain, Gorr the God Butcherer, is trying to meet a wish-granting Cosmic entity called Eternity, so that he can wish to kill all the gods out of spite for letting his daughter die. But Thor convinces him to choose love, and he wishes for his daughter back instead, then dies.

Thor: Love and Thunder. At the end, he adopts the daughter that Gorr leaves behind, who is named Love and has the power of the Celestial named Eternity. She is played by India Rose Hemsworth and is Chris Hemsworth's actual real-world daughter. She is also in the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday.
