I used a Star Wars Retro Collection mini-action figure from The Mandalorian TV series as a model for the pencil drawing back in 2021 (not shown) which I used as a base template and the illustration (here) has been updated on May 18, 2026 since 2021. I also looked at the photo on the figure’s cardback as a guide for detailed features. I rewatched my Blu-ray copy of the series to observe how Gideon looks in addition. I kept this simple, like an animated cartoon with bold lines and edges. Moff has a sphinx-like expression with hair that seems pulled back and a mustache. He has wrinkles on his face. His uniform is menacing and dark and what looks like a cape behind him. My signature is at the bottom written in cursive across the Moff’s chest. The background is plain, hot and reflected onto Moff Gideon. This character is in the image of the actor who portrays him in The Mandalorian, Giancarlo Esposito.

I used a Star Wars: The Vintage Collection mini-action figure from The Mandalorian TV series as a model for the pencil drawing (not shown). I also used the cardback of the figure for reference and re-watched the first season series on Blu-ray to see how the character moves and carries herself to complete the vector artwork. My signature appears along the bottom of the graphic, above the chest plate in cursive. I originally completed a version of this illustration on July 23, 2021. I salvaged the majority of the vector art from it but redid most all of this illustration on May 20, 2026 with a slight revision/update May 21, 2026.

I started focusing on making my own illustrations for many reasons about 6 years ago and one was the concern about what AI would do to the art world and artists like myself. >>ALT

I originally made this illustration at the beginning of May 2020. It's a Scout Trooper from Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi. I modified it a bit and added my signature today specifically for my Bluesky social account. I want to show (here) the illustration I was thinking of when referencing what I'm talking about. I made a pencil sketch (not shown) of a Scout Trooper in one of my sketch books on May 1, 2020. I used a Big-Figs toy of a Scout Trooper (that I own) as my model. I scanned that sketch of mine and used it as a template to create the vector artwork in Adobe Illustrator CS. I own a copy of the application. I bought it with my own hard-earned money and make good use of it on my PowerMac G4. Again, I bought that Mac with my own money. The pencil sketch is small and light, but I knew I had something I could turn into a good vector illustration and that I did. The Scout Trooper has his helmet on and is facing to his right side. So, there's a three-quarters view of his helmet which has a builtin visor and goggles. His uniformed body is facing us. His armor is smooth and his under armor of a lighter material that's made to move. There's some sort of apparatus at the front of his mouth on his helmet which might help him to breath and communicate with others. My signature is in cursive on top of his chest plate and at the bottom of the graphic. I used this illustration for a number of projects; one of them being a RetroButtonPin I made and sold on my Etsy store. This illustration might be digital but it also lives on outside of that realm on paper. Thank you if you made it this far in my description! I know there might not be a soul who reads this but there's self satisfaction in expressing what I feel. I must stress how incredibly dangerous AI has been, gotten and will continue to be. It's not only taking away jobs and artist's livelihood but it's also the cause of death for innocent people who have died by suicide using AI chat applications. Please DO NOT use AI! ty

Vector illustration I did of Madonna's face. The original pencil drawing I did of it (not shown) and illustration was made last year (2024). I have updated it since with this version. I used macromedia FREEHAND 10 to do the vector art. I used the cover of the "Borderline" U.S. 7-inch single as a source. This illustration is stylized to look very 1980's and shows only her eyes, nose, mouth with a bit of her shoulder showing. She's looking directly at the viewer and it's signed by me, the artist, in cursive, "Alec A. Sarkas" on top of her shoulder in the right-hand corner.

I made this little guy out of a pizza box years ago. I was tearing down a pizza box and the way it looked I thought it looked like a guy. All I had to do was draw a face on him. Listening to this awesome #CDsingle from #DepecheMode which includes the original cover version of #Route66, a personal favorite of mine. This disc, numbered 21, continues the 3 CD single box sets that preceded it in the U.S. I love it, even if it’s a Digipak and isn’t printed with fluorescent ink.

Playing this CD by #JoyDivision. It’s ’Substance’, the first album of theirs I bought. I knew #NewOrder had an album with the same name when it was released in ‘88 but it was my cousin that told me when we were both summer vacationing in Greece that New Order, Joy Division, and #Warsaw were related.

It’s in a standard jewel case with the cover facing forward. It’s standing upright, focused on my kitchen table. The booklet is in it the correct way (I think) which makes the cover turn sideways. So, I have it with the spine of the CD on top. This is an alternate cover to the original release. It has a large, stylized ‘S’ on it and within it the text “JOY DIVISION” and “1977–1980”. Surprisingly, I found it at a great price at a local shop. Maybe they didn’t know the rarity of it? I don’t know if it is rare but it’s super valuable to me!

I bought the #NeverGonnaGiveYouUp 12-inch single pretty early on and love every mix of that brilliant song on it but I only more recently bought the album it appears on before I saw him live in concert with a friend. I was star-struck!

I’m up early listening to this, one of my favorite @bananaramaofficial.bsky.social albums on #CompactDisc. It’s #PopLife, the last studio album of my favorite group as a trio. #SaraDallin, #KerenWoodward, and #JacquiOSullivan lay down the signature unison vocals that makes Bananarama sound so sweet!

I paused a frame off the #NewOrder video for “Round & round” from my #VCR and drew #ElaineIrwin back in 1991. I was in college. Pausing then #drawing from a still off a VHS tape was not easy. The VCR would stop the tape after a few minutes and I’d have to find the same frame all over again. #artwork

It’s signed by me (the artist), Alec ‘91. I’m huge into recycling and using all materials around me: even when I was 21 years old! So, back then I took a bunch of stray manila papers, cut, tore, and stapled them together. What you see here is the first page. This was done during my downtime in 1991. It was something to do. I never continued with the project, so I have a bunch of paper left to draw whatever I want on them. Digital technology is great but whatever artwork we do on computers, phones, tablets, etc. will not last. All digital files will eventually be lost forever as technology moves on to the next phase. That’s why I draw everything I do for myself on paper first. Those drawings I do on paper will last and be around for future generations to look back and wonder what life was like in, let’s say, the year 1991.

Freshly #unboxed this week there’s my #JoPolniaczek 8-inch #actionfigure from #theFactsofLife TV series made by #Mego. She completes the set of 3 that were released in 2018. The character is a tough, independent yet caring teen who was introduced in the 2nd season played brilliantly by #NancyMcKeon.

Up late at night listening to this CD I bought long ago. It’s k.d. lang’s brilliant #Ingénue released by Sire Records Company back in 1992. k.d. lang’s voice is a favorite of mine: so soothing, so beautiful. The singles “Miss Chatelaine” and “Constant Craving” appear on this album. I love them both!

I’m playing this #CompactDisc by the infamous #DuranDuran, a musical group that shaped a better part of my teens with their music and videos. You’ll love this playlist if you’re a #GenXer like myself. I designed the cover art for the playlist, too! The #70s were a great time to grow up in: so much creativity, awesome toys, and lots of hair! I was not a fan of bell bottom pants though. I remember trying to cuff hand-me-down jeans as a kid.

Now spinning this sweet #CompactDisc from 1999 and making spaghetti at dinner time. It’s ‘Trio II’ which includes #EmmylouHarris, @lindaronstadtmusic.bsky.social, and @realdollyparton.bsky.social. A great combination of 3 great voices in music.
