Probably not quite that much, but it all adds up to the total amount paid by the business. As tipping and digital payments have increased this has become a bigger hidden cost to operators for sure

I use 3% for my pro formas, if you’re a wine bar in a high cost city you probably have a good % of AMEX so closer to 3.5%, doubt they have a meaningful % of cash transactions. Choose a fancy POS with bad rates and you could probably get to 4%

The conceptual idea is to get candidates to spend time in the less populous states as a means of getting the voice of "real America". But in practice it's also a power grab for those who get to be on the early slate. It was hugely oversized influence for Iowa until we screwed it all up.

How do street-design knowers feel about these mini roundabouts with mountable curb centers that allow larger vehicles (aka buses) to intentionally drive over them? Not perfect but in a space constrained area they seem pretty good to me
