A blind organization rep that thinks registered blind wheelers and other disabled cyclists don't use the cycling infrastructure that would be rendered useless without bsb's

bsky.app/profile/eric... All 3 of these disabled wheelers use cycling infrastructure in cities that incorporate bsb's. As usual the article ignores the needs of disabled wheelers (not to mention elderly and children) for whom the infra doesn't work without them @wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk

Just picked up stuff for daughter at a Tesco Local. 6 x Costa coffee pods £4.75 (bad enough) if you have a club card, £6.15 if you don't. That's 30% more because you're not giving them your personal data. Loyalty cards should be banned 🤬

Riding the New Forest Gridiron Audax yesterday and within 5km of start we see a driver being interviewed by the police and what appears to be the body of a donkey on the verge. How do you manage to hit an animal on a straight road through heathland in daylight? 🤬

I really don't GAF, if he was a "prominent member of the local church or that his wife needed to get to choir practice " apart from the fact it's not very Christian to lie about the circumstances is it?

I think that's Festus Akinbuoye. He's the Tory candidate for mayor and absolutely clueless about cycling in London. "A bicycle can't carry 5 bags of cement" 🤦

How many times do I read "cars don't drive on pavements" in threads that attract anti cycling hysteria. Cars have been killing pedestrians on footpaths for a century

Deep joy. The mechanical street sweeper has been replaced with a human operative. Still a one for one swap as employment is concerned but so much more thorough Says he tries to clean the gutter even alongside parked cars but is fearful of damaging them.
A "traditional" street sweeper on a residential road has returned after years of mechanical vehicle cleaners

Perhaps you spend more in the bathroom than the average person. It's a trade off and I know which rooms I'd rather have natural light. Modern bathrooms are required to have ventilation that provides fresh air

Even in the car centric US. Each homicide is treated separately and there is a mandatory 4 years per fatality = 8 years minimum but could be up to 30 years for a double dui manslaughter charge

You've got it 😁 Contractors are encouraged to use "Do not overtake cyclists" when closure of a cycle lane over a limited distance means mixing it with other vehicles. Much more sensible. Don't ever expect a temporary signed alternative safe route for cyclists in the UK as an alternative

aldokw.bsky.social @aldokw.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
It's still a common sign in the UK unfortunately, when any cycling infrastructure is either closed for works or as in this case cars are being allowed down a previously filtered road (a cycling Quiet Way) temporarily. Covering their backsides liability wise I guess.
