Got back to #parkrun this morning after a few months of hurty-knee stopping me. Got my worst ever time and tripped over a tree root, but happily my knee felt fine and the weather was great. Looking forward to getting back into it.

It's a project I started in April, but I've finally finished my Chaos #bloodbowl team. Sculpts are from Greebo. Here's some pics! #minipainting

A couple of Big Guys for my Chaos #bloodbowl team: the chaos troll is from Brutefun (I think) and the ogre is from Greebo. #minipainting

I'm planing to play Humans in my next #bloodbowl league. I already have an OWA team, so I painted up these guys in the same style. #minipainting

This week at #boardgames night we played Istanbul. It had been ages and I had to relearn it, but I did really love the movement in this game. Then we set it up and played it again with the coffee expansion, which was cool - wouldn't say it's a must-add but an interesting variation.

What happened to Amazons in the new #bloodbowl edition? They were virtually unchanged, but they are sensitive to meta changes. From the release of the Kara Tample Harpies in Oct 2022 to the end of BB2020 in Dec 2025, they had a 55.4% win rate from 16233 games. From bbtv.akorus.de:

Off Season round-up: I came 4/16 and amazingly won Most Touchdowns despite only getting 4 from 3 games! The highest was 5 from the runner up but that was passed down to me. Lost a few ratings points but still holding on to England's 2nd highest Orc ranking (it's the little things ...). #bloodbowl

R3 of Off Season vs MrToast's amazons. It goes very well, as I receive, remove some players, then score. He is struggling on his drive and after popping the ball loose, I somewhat showboat a TTM to win 2-0. I got 4 cas and he had 2 linewomen sent off. I finish the tournament 2-0-1. #bloodbowl.

AlchemistBB @alchemistbb.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

R2 of Off Season vs gcoleman76's Chaos. I overcommit on his drive and he hands off to run past my defense. On my drive I underestimate his wrestle beastman and he sacks the ball and wins 2-0. Played a bit rubbish! His beastman thick skull saved 4 of his players from KOs. #bloodbowl

R1 of Off Season vs Oscar's lizardmen in his first ever NAF game. He knew the rules really well but needs to play a bit more to get the strategy down. It ended 2-0 to me. #bloodbowl

Going to the Off Season #bloodbowl tournament tomorrow and taking these lads. I loved the old orc roster and I'm wary of this new one but I should give it a try. Can't just never play them again! #minipainting

Tonight my Lizardmen had an eventful #bloodbowl league match vs Mike's Nurgle. He scored on about turn 6 so I went for the 3 turn score. But on the next turn, my bedt saurus (block, mighty blow) blitzed his opponent then made a rush to stand in the right square for a cage.

R3 of Barton Bowl vs actualpow's chaos dwarves (for the second Saturday in a row!). I score in T8, but in the second half a blizzard strikes. A deep kick puts him under pressure and I nab the ball for a 2-0 win, finishing on 2-0-1, as does the team. #bloodbowl

R2 of Barton Bowl vs JuJuu's elf union. He expertly drives his way to a T8 score. My parnter is struggling so I scored quickly, going for the win, but he nicely scores back and I lose 2-1, 1-0 to him on cas. Needed to do more armour breaks to have a better chance in this matchup, really. #bloodbowl

Round 1 of Barton Bowl vs lgmdaniel's High Elves. I score on T8. Second half he snakes a catch which lets me pressure the ball and eventually run off with it. It ends 2-1 to me. #bloodbowl

It's Barton Bowl 6 tomorrow, a #bloodbowl pairs tournament with 28 teams. It includes many highly rated coaches and the ruleset is elf-friendly. There are many pairs of high elves + dark elves. I originally signed up with high elves, but swapped to dark elves after enjoying them at Home Nations.

This week at #boardgames night I played as Hearth Vigil in Spirit Island vs Level 2 Habsburg mining company. This was peak Spirit Island, with everyone *sure* we'd lost with so much blight on the island. We just played a few more turns, but slowly it turned around as our spirits ramped up and we won

Siren Cup roundup: I finished on 2-1-0 for 3rd out of 28 coaches, which I'm really pleased with. The games felt very hairy and Jordell was the superstar that carried the team. Being on a knife-edge for how Jordell rolled was not ideal, so I don't think I'll become a full time Fling coach! #bloodbowl

R3 of Siren Bowl vs Mawph's chorfs. I steal all 6 rerolls but Jordell dies on turn 3. Really good game, I don't score in my drive but turn him over when he has to dodge his ball carrier away from a treeman. I recover, toss a halfling and score. He does manage to equalise for a 1-1 draw. #bloodbowl

R2 of Siren Cup vs actualpow's chaos dwarfs. I receive but get bogged down. Jordell kept rolling 1s but he survived the half, 0-0. 2nd half Jordell cage dives, then 2 leaps and he has the ball free. He gets wrestled down but next turn gets up, recovers and eventually scores, 1-0 win #bloodbowl

R1 of Siren Bowl vs greenskindan's snotlings. A proper stunty-off, where Jordell tried to avoid fungus flinger projectiles. He scored in 4, but Jordell was able to equalise and then score on T6 in the 2nd half. Dan couldn't TTM and it ended 2-1 to me, 4-3 cas. #bloodbowl

At #boardgames night this week we played Unfathomable. I was a Brazilian antiques dealer who found this strange mask she couldn't get rid of. Anyway, the boat ride wasn't great, with mother Dagon breaking the ship and human/fish hybrids driving us insane. Wasn't my fault, I was a regular human!

Tonight I played game 8 of my #bloodbowl league vs Joe's Chaos Renegades. I'm likely to make the playoffs but Joe isn't, so I was protecting my players and Joe was throwing caution to the wind. I was missing a saurus and skink. The first half I received, knocked out 2 on the LoS and score T5 ...

This weekend we went back to New Zealand for Great Western Trail. This time I was sitting closer to the boating board so I did more ship stuff and did no shearing. I also got loads of the cycling cards. I really like this version, it's probably my favourite of the three. #boardgames

I couldn't go this year, but I was following ThrudBall online. Congrats to BB_Nut who won with Dark Elves, and also to moose who came second with Wood Elves. Moose only played his first NAF game in Jan this year (against me!) so to come 2/132 is an amazing achievement. #bloodbowl

4 fun games of Blood on the Clocktower yesterday including all the base scripts. The TB game was the best, where I was the Imp sat next to the Saint, bluffing Empath 1 all game. Sadly town killed me at final 3. Pic is of a Lleech game where unfortunately the Tea Lady was the lleech host. #boardgames

Latest #bloodbowl statistics for 3rd Season Edition after ~8 months' play. High elves, the new hotness, are the best team. Humans have stormed up to 2nd place! OWA have dropped down to 3rd, likely because of tournament tiering. Elf union in 6th will also be a suprise to many.

At #boardgames night we went back to Spirit Island vs Level 1 Scots. I was Shifting Memories of Ages, which is a fun combination of defense plus easy access to new major powers. I got Instruments Of Their Own Ruin early. We won, and reminded ourselves to up the difficulty level next time.

Home Nations Open roundup: Very nicely ran tournament - hope to be back in the future. Big team tournaments are something special. Our team went 3-2-1 and I personally went 4-1-1 so I was happy not to let the scots down as a stand-in. I played 3xHigh Elves, 2xGoblins and 1xWood Elves. #bloodbowl

R6 of HomeNations vs SirVejlance from Blood&Tears with high elves. I kick but he executes a good drive. On T7 I kill 2 players, including surfing a lion, then he scores. On captain's orders I score in 2 turns, Down to 6 elves, he can't stop my pressure and I win 2-1. Team loss though. #bloodbowl

Round 5 of HomeNations (on table 1!) Vs L0rdGibby's Wood Elves. My assassin dies early and I lose another player quickly too. I can't stop the strip ball dancer and he scores on my drive. It ends up 3-1 and 4-1 cas to him, but the team result was a draw so team is now 3-2-0 and I'm 3-1-1. #bloodbowl

R4 of Home Nations vs Marsh from Malta and his High Elves. He was very aggressive and has a strip ball, leap white lion. But all his bold cage dives led to him using up rerolls quickly and killing his best players, so I won 2-0. Team win too against a good Maltese team, so we're 3-1-0. #bloodbowl

After Home Nations day 1, both I and the team Scotland are on 2 wins and a draw. I've enjoyed the Dark Elves and have successfully punted and dumped off, both of which were impactful. I've also enjoyed playing (and beating :p) the 6th and 7th ranked goblins in the world. #bloodbowl

Looks like my Round 2 of Home Nations #bloodbowl didn't post, but it was a 1-1 draw vs PabloEstonia's high elves. Pretty uneventful game where we both scored on out turn 8s and failed our 1-turn attempts. The rest of our team won!

AlchemistBB @alchemistbb.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

R3 of Home Nations vs Lord Bonan's goblins. I score on my T8 and on his drive he leave a downed elf next to the ball but fails the dodge to foul him. I stand up and blitz the ball free and run off with it. 2-0 win and a team win too, so both the team and I are 2-1-0 after day 1 #bloodbowl

R1 of HomeNations vs Yudlugar's goblins. On my drive his strip ball goblin works and he recovers on a 6. But on T8 a witch sacks the ball and I hand off to score on T8. His drive he removes 5 elves but never gets the ball comfortable. A failed dodge let's me sack for a 1-0 win. Team draw. #bloodbowl

This weekend it's Home Nations. Jock was short a coach so I'm happy to step in and play for Team Scotland again in the Open - love those chaps! I have Dark Elves with a leader + dodge runner. The draw is already up and I'm against Yudlugar in what will be his 200th game with goblins! #bloodbowl

Recently at #boardgames night we played Great Western Trail New Zealand. I'm a big fan of the original and thought Argentina was good but not quite up there with it. I really enjoyed NZ because of the wool shearing mechanic (you are herding sheep, not cattle). I want to do more boating next time.

Round 1 of BBQ bowl vs Jaffacake's orcs. I receive and manage to score on turn 8. 2nd half he fails something which lets me sack the ball. After a few turns of bobbling around, I grab the ball, hand it off and run away for a 2-0 win. #bloodbowl

A couple of new-to-me #boardgames played recenty: The White Castle, a decent dice drafter, just the combo extra actions parts weren't really for me. Nusfjord, really liked this one, lots of variety to explore with all the different buildings.
