Fuel prices will not come back down. Demand continues to rise as it has for decades. Strategic reserves are low and will not be replaced. The cheap fossil fuel era is over. States will have to invest in production. Technologies will change towards renewables. There will be diverse adaptations.

7 October 1941 | A French Jewish boy, Claude Vecksler, was born in Paris. He arrived at #Auschwitz on 25 September 1942 in a transport of 1,000 Jews deported from #Drancy. He was among 475 of them murdered in gas chambers after the selection. He was 11 months old.

The proposed EV road charge flat rate 3p is regressive. Fuel Excise Duty for a compact car is far less than for a heavy gas guzzlers - drivers pay per mass effects of vehicles in fuel consumption. The new charge should also be 'weighted' for mass: Eg, pence/mile/tonne
