the end of a VGA video cable attached to my CRT monitor, with a pin missing in the top row and the middle row

the two missing pins are pin number 4 and pin number 9, neither of which are used or needed to carry a video signal

new sticker on my highly under-decorated thrift store laptop, courtesy of @pouncehouse.bsky.social (bottom left)

a fursona sticker from a character featured in pounce house shows stuck on the bottom left of the backside of this laptop screen

a single unrelated furry sticker is in the middle of it, but it is not the main focus of the image

the laptop is an hp 655 notebook from around 2012 or so, and was purchased for $25

this is funny because mathematically a sphere has the SMALLEST surface area to volume ratio possible for a 3d shape, which translates to the LEAST amount of glaze possible assuming uniform coating - any other possible cereal shape would be better for this thanks kellogg

backside of kellogg's cereal which says:

WE DID THE MATH
DONUT HOLES ARE THE PERFECT SHAPE TO DELIVER MORE GLAZE!

followed by 3d model diagrams of a sphere and a torus, accompanied by mathematical formulas

once again utter insanity because powerpoint wants to correct "protest against" to just "protest", which would make it more concise if it was a verb, but here makes it incomprehensible bc "national protest" is a noun phrase ppt wants "protesters organized a national protest the actions..." dawg

"I believe that it was the constitutional right of the protesters to organize a national protest against the actions of the government", but "protest against" is underlined because the software wants to correct it for conciseness, which would make it "organize a national protest the actions of the government"

pixlr (an online image editing program that pivoted to generative ai for some of their services) showed me this update, and on the first image that they show, the example template features an ai generated image that requires the girl on the right to have a freakishly long arm for this pose

bro look at this because saying the book *by name* is very important here, AND the key focus here is that he was fascinated with the book itself, not the author

"McCandless grew up fascinated with Call of the Wild by Jack London" corrected by ms word to "McCandless grew up fascinated by Jack London"

Alan @alanfirecat.bsky.social · 29/06/2025

even in cases where a story is true, if someone accompanies a post with an ai generated image then i automatically assume a story is questionable by default because of how ai is misleading in many common use cases screw (generative)ai in this internet ecosystem bro
