It is absolutely brilliant to see the Health (Abolition of Three Day Wait Rule) (Amendment) Bill 2026 passing Second Stage in the Dáil. Mandatory delay periods are paternalistic and creaste additional stresses and logistical burdens for abortion seekers.

An aspect I see to this that isn't often discussed is that abortion access is assumed as a given in Great Britain. The people I speak to often assume abortion is provided on request. They do not see the threats as abortion is normalised within their social spheres:
