Crucial thing you must do right now is strengthen and expand your community. Serve together. Try a new activity. See each other in person. Over on the other site I am continually struck by how the rabid intensity does not actually reflect community or connection. Only way we get through this.

When I rewatched Gilmore Girls last year, I realized I have always been Lorelei. Now, rewatching Sex and the City, it's glaringly obvious that I'm Miranda. Oh, 19 year old Alana. What I would tell you.

Reading Onyx Storm on minimal sleep! Not sure totally what's happening, but that means I'll get to reread it and it will feel like the first time!!

Parent hack: get a sister-in-law who fosters rabbits and then have your toddler watch them eat carrots. Now carrots are an approved food.

I don't want my appliances to be connected to the internet. I don't want them to have blinky lights or touch screen controls or be accessible by phone. All I want is for them to do the one thing they are supposed to do, and to beep less. Hear that, manufacturers? Less beeping.

Huge news. A ton of Amazon’s ongoing momentum in the book space is solely about kindle/audible. An ethical, easy-to-use alternative is great.

I don't think it was pain that made him so great, I think painting brought him whatever happiness he had. * RIP David Lynch

People might bring up Vincent van Gogh as an example of a painter who did great work in spite of, or because of, his suffering. I like to think that van Gogh would have been even more prolific and even greater if he wasn't so restricted by the things tormenting him. I don't think it was pain that made him so great, I think painting brought him whatever happiness he had.

According to Barron’s, Elon Musk’s wealth increased by almost $200 billion between November 5 and December 20. That means he could give $250,000 to every homeless person in the US and still be as rich as he was on November 5.

I deleted my Amazon app and use a Keep note to write down the things I want to buy. If I still think I should buy the ✨thing ✨ 1-2 weeks later, then I usually do. It's not groundbreaking, but it has decreased the amount of shit I buy andddd lessened my BUYITNOW impulse

I've been hearing a lot about children who go no-contact with their parents when they become adults. (See: most recent Today Explained epi, replete TikToks) & I'm here on the flip side to say that my mom is the one who decided to go no-contact with me.

I don't mean to be all doom n gloom, but the number of recalls just keeps increasing (up 20% from 2020 to 2023). It's almost like government regulations and enforcement are needed to keep us alive? What a drag. Unrelated, can't wait for whichever billionaire goon ends up running the FDA 🙃

Just lamenting that Leo battled Ticketmaster to get us tix to the Lover tour (which was canceled due to *gestures* global pandemic). BUT I bet a lot of merch had already been made. Where did it all go? I want some. Is Taylor on this thing yet? Taylor, can I please have a shirt?
