4/4 The objective is not simply to survive the next night. The objective is to break Russia’s model of attritional warfare — forcing it to spend more resources for diminishing results, while Ukraine adapts faster, scales production and stays ahead of the next threat.

3/ But defence alone is not enough. UA cannot afford an endless exchange of expensive interceptors for cheap Ru drones. The strategy must also change the cost equation: reduce the cost of UA’s defence while increasing the resources Ru must spend to sustain its ability to launch mass attacks.

2/ Ukraine therefore needs more than a single “magic” interceptor. It needs a layered, scalable and economically sustainable air-defence system: early detection, cheap interceptors for mass targets, fast systems against jet-powered drones, missiles, stronger systems for the most difficult threats.

1/ Russia is not simply trying to break through Ukraine’s air defence. It is trying to exhaust the entire system through mass, speed and a growing variety of targets.

1/10 Today, March 30, intelligence suggests the US is approaching a potential ground operation in Iran. Forces are largely in place, signaling that the decision for an invasion may be final. Scale is still debated, but action appears imminent.

Thread 🧵 1/ Something unusual happened in Washington’s rhetoric toward the Gulf this week. When allies start speaking about each other with sarcasm or careless remarks, it raises serious questions about respect, strategy, and the future of the relationship.

1/ 🧵 A major geopolitical shift may be unfolding behind the scenes. According to emerging reports, Donald Trump may visit Beijing around May 13–14, followed shortly by Vladimir Putin. If true, this would be an extremely rare sequence of meetings between the world's major powers.

So weird that a couple of hours before the markets open in NY, Trump announces that the war is basically over without being specific. And then, as a completely random event, the Dow futures are up a thousand points. If I didn't know better, I'd say exploiting the market is all that matters to him.

Thread: 1. The first strategic failure of the Netanyahu–Trump war strategy against Iran is a catastrophic misreading of Iran’s resilience. Washington expected rapid coercion & deterrence; instead, Iran demonstrated the capacity to absorb pressure & escalate across multiple domains simultaneously.

2. The 2nd failure is underestimating Iran’s asymmetric strategy. Rather than confronting the U.S. directly, Tehran targeted logistics, infrastructure, & chokepoints—paralyzing the operational environment rather than fighting a conventional battle. @johnsipher.bsky.social @general-ben.bsky.social

3. A critical mistake was ignoring the vulnerability of U.S. regional logistics. Iranian strikes reportedly damaged key facilities of the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, including satellite communication terminals, storage facilities, and missile-loading cranes essential for naval operations.

5. Another failure was overconfidence in missile defense systems. Joint U.S.–Israeli air defenses struggled even against older Iranian ballistic missiles, raising serious doubts about their ability to intercept more advanced systems.

Iranian officials warn of ‘war of attrition’ and global economic chaos as energy supplies are throttled * Middle East crisis – live updates Iran dramatically escalated its strategy of striking civilian infrastructure and transport networks across the Gulf on Wednesday, attacking commercial ships and targeting Dubai’s international airport as US and Israeli warplanes launched new waves of strikes on the Islamic Republic.
