CMU is building a campus in Miami, thanks to a $3B gift from Citadel CEO Ken Griffin. Florida is a no-go state for many queer people, and the state has some very invasive laws limiting universities' LGBTQ+/DEI policies. As a trans alumna, I'll be curious to see how they navigate this.

I wish streaming music services had a toggle that would exempt whatever you're listening to from impacting your feed. An integral part of my work is listening to musicals, often on repeat, for days on end. Sometimes I don't even like the shows. When I'm not working I'd like to get away from them.

Today, after 3+ years of really really needing a new laptop, I ordered a new laptop. It's a mid-spec MacBook Pro. This is huge. I have had at least one foot in the Microsoft ecosystem since IBM PC-DOS version 2.10. Other than an iPod, I have never owned an Apple product.
