akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Could you please explain further? Which particular traces? Also what are width and clearances? 210
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 05/08/2026I assembled the first board. However, when I started placing components, I immediately discovered a problem: a footprint for an RGB surface mount LED was mirrored - I made a mistake when I created this footprint. So, I left it unpopulated. 000
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 05/08/2026This is used for aligning a board with a stencil for applying solder paste. You can find more information on this here: community.aisler.net/t/rapid-regi...community.aisler.netRapid RegistrationAligning PCB and stencil manually is often time-consuming and can lead to bad printing results. To make the registration process easier, faster and more reliable for you, we offer the Rapid Registrati... 110
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 04/08/2026I got this beautiful board manufactured by @aisler.net! So, now let's move on to the assembly process! 111
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Glyphs are also visible for constraints of an object if you select this object! 000
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 24/07/2026@kicad.org, this is so cool that this feature is coming! I tried it out and faced a strange behavior: constraint glyphs are visible only when zooming over constrained objects. It would be cool to be able to configure when to see them: always or while hovering the cursor over constrained objects. 200
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 02/06/2026I have assembled and done some initial testing of the PCB I ordered from @aisler.net. This is the main board of a battery powered BLE compact touchpad. 011
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 28/05/2026I got the board manufactured by @aisler.net. It looks beautiful! The only problem is with the default placement of bridges. I wouldn't be able to add custom bridges following the official instruction because adding custom bridges makes the shape unclosed on the Edge.Cuts layer in @kicad.org. 010
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 24/05/2026I noticed that I mistyped the year, it must be 2026! It doesn't matter anymore as it's already in fabrication. 000
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 24/05/2026I'm working on a small PCB which features a BLE module, a USB-C port, a power management chip (PMIC), some buttons and a couple of connectors: one for connecting a touchpad and one for a rechargeable battery. @kicad.org is a very convenient EDA! #KiCad 210
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 26/04/2026Net labels and buses are local to each sheet and in order to connect nets between sheets you would need to define hierarchical labels and them between sheets. 000
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 26/04/2026To easy navigation between subsheets and see the hierarchy, you can enable the Hierarchy Navigator in the left panel. Now, you can jump back and forth between sheets. 100
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 26/04/2026You start from creating a ordinary sheet which you would use as a top-level sheet. Then you add a subsheet by clicking the "Draw Hierarchical Sheets" button, then drawing a subsheet box and fill its parameters, e.g. name and filename. Then you are ready to draw a schematic for your component. 100
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 26/04/2026In KiCad you can organize your schematics in a hierarchy. This allows to abstract out components, define clear interfaces and connect them on a higher level in a top-level sheet, while keeping details of every component in their separate subsheets. #KiCad 100
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 25/04/2026@aisler.net, why can't I order electronic components (Simple Simply) from the same project from which I ordered PCBs (Beautiful Boards)? The form says that the service is not available for the current project (created by Push for KiCad) and I must create a separate electronic components project. 120
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 21/04/2026These guidelines (and much more) are well described in the application note AN2867 from STMicroelectronics. 000
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 21/04/2026This looks like the following on the 4-layer PCB stack-up with signal/ground/ground/signal planes (only two top planes are displayed): 100
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 21/04/2026I following the following guidelines when routing traces for the 32.768 kHz oscillator crystal circuit when designing a PCB: place the crystal and external capacitors as close as possible to the pins, keep routes short, have a separate local ground plane and a guard ring. 100
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 01/03/2026Starting a new PCB project 🧵 I’m designing a portable device with a display and wireless connectivity, with navigation as the long-term goal. This is my first time building something like this from scratch, so I’ll share the progress and lessons learned along the way. 040
akscr.bsky.social @akscr.bsky.social · 20/02/2026I wish you would have a shopping basket like functionality because it was not obvious / noticeable that there was an option that the second order could have been combined with the previous one, unless you know how it works beforehand. Also, can Simple Supply be combined with Beautiful Boards? 110
