Team JKU Racing has shared their learnings on managing a shared component library in our community! 🧡 One of their recommendations is to use life cycle states to show if components have been tested on real hardware. What are your tips on managing your component library? #technology #hardware
community.aisler.net
Managing a shared component library when working in a team
Having a shared component library can save time, reduce mistakes and make designs more consistent. Without proper management, however, it can create its own set of problems that may not be obvious at first. As a Formula Student team in its first year, we at JKU Racing have learned this lesson the hard way throughout several PCB development cycles. Although there was no single problem that caused the entire system to fail, we accumulated a growing collection of small issues that hindered an effe...

A four-panel comic-style meme. The character is a cartoon illustration of a girl with pink hair, a red bow, and sunglasses. The meme uses the classic Drake two-panel comparison of rejecting one idea in favour of another, more humorous idea.

The top two panels (Row 1) show the girl character with a grumpy expression and a hand-up "no" or "disapprove" gesture. Next to her, in text on a white background, are the words: "Heating up the soldering iron." This represents the standard, labor-intensive method.

The bottom two panels (Row 2) show the same character, now smiling broadly, pointing in approval. Sparkling effects surround her head. Next to her, in text on a white background, are the words: "Just putting the PCB outside in the sun with some solder paste." This represents the absurd and impossible alternative. The meme is a joke about avoiding the effort of soldering by dreaming an impossible solution to solder with the 2026 summer heat. Created by AISLER, a PCB Manufacturing and Assembly Service for Large batches and Prototypes.
