Akos @akoskm.com · 23/12/2025Here's my year in Cursor. I've been using it full-time for the past 2 months with the Pro license. I still used it mostly for side projects during Q1 and Q2, so Gemini 2.5 Pro still dominates. My tab usage has been in decline since Agents. How did your year look? cursor.com/2025 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 09/06/2025Gm ☀️ It’s a public holiday here, so what better way to spend it than exploring some cool new stuff? Taking notes, there's so much good stuff. ✍️ Do you know what this is? 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 04/06/2025Good day, Celebrating it in the garden with these beautiful flowers. I even felt like running, so I went for a 5k but stopped short so I have something to run towards later this week 🙂 Don’t forget to rest, my friend. You’ve worked for it. 010
Akos @akoskm.com · 04/06/2025My MCP book is out 🚨 Build MCP servers with TypeScript - a book taking you from "Hello World" MCP to a host-orchestrated workflow in your spare time. Feedback means a lot to me, so it’s free for those willing to leave a review. 🙂 Reply and I'll DM you the link! 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 30/05/2025kicking off work with a matcha tea 🍵 I’m drinking it for the first time, let’s see what I missed 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 30/05/2025Chapter 3 reviewed and shipped 🚢 Two more chapters left, and some closing words, and my MCP book is on the shelves. 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 28/05/2025Gumroad offers a quick setup for products to check interest. However, with the "pay what you want" model, here's what a creator receives after €1. Are there any alternatives where people can sign up and leave tips? 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 28/05/2025GM ☀️ Final pass and edits on the book. More people subscribed (and paid!) through my free Gumroad page, which I set up just to track interest. This is definitely not helping with my impostor syndrome, thanks 😄 Diagrams are cool, adding more where appropriate. Let's go! 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 27/05/2025Kicking off the morning in shades, the baby went to bed too late and I feel like I’m having jet lag. 🤒 I managed to get in a training session but felt very heavy. During morning coffee, I finished the last chapter of the MCP book and sent out the first preview. Let’s go 💪 010
Akos @akoskm.com · 26/05/2025This is not even a dollar, right? On the other hand, it’s not even a paid product but a pay-what-you-want. And sometimes, this is all you need as a small indie educator to give motivation to finish your next book. Thank you!🙏 010
Akos @akoskm.com · 26/05/2025hmm, where is this? the only thing I could find is an extension named Docker MCP Toolkit 110
Akos @akoskm.com · 26/05/2025oh interesting never heard about Goose, it looks like a UI for LLMS, similar to TypingMind 110
Akos @akoskm.com · 26/05/2025Yeah, I understand that to run the MCP locally, you need to clone the server's project and install it, that's a drawback. But what about the installation? For both, it's still editing JSON files, right? It would be cool to have a more streamlined, app-store-like experience for that. 110
Akos @akoskm.com · 26/05/2025I'm working on my MCP book, and indeed, all my examples are STDIO-based, but I realized I can build quite a few things with them, like a GitHub issue search (using my PAT) or a knowledge base. I just recently saw a device-based login flow from auth0 that you can use in MCPs which is next on my list 100
Akos @akoskm.com · 26/05/2025got it gumroad has a flat 10% fee, stripe also takes some It'd probably be a problem if I were making more serious money there, right now I don't really care. I just need a platform where I can upload my stuff, market it through emails and make a few $ 110
Akos @akoskm.com · 26/05/2025Discipline involves not only following through on your commitments but also refraining from actions you know are harmful. I heard something along these lines in a podcast during training, and I think it’ll stick with me for this week. Did you do your Monday workout? 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 26/05/2025Thanks! Yeah, it’s simple and works for my simple needs. Wish they had some sort of verification for email subscribers 110
Akos @akoskm.com · 26/05/2025GM devs ☀️ The MCP book is coming together! I have some more work to do on the last and final chapter where I’m using both prompts and resources. It’s pretty cool. And I’m launching this week! Subscribe here to not miss it: akoskm.gumroad.com/l/mcp What are your plans? 020
Akos @akoskm.com · 23/05/2025One thing that now takes only seconds: Comparing different salaries, full-time, contractor, number of days off, and other benefits. What seemingly looks like a lot better offer, if you deduct the vacations and days off, turns out I would work 20% more for $15/day. 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 22/05/2025Did you know you can make links clickable in the output of your MCP Server tool call? Simply format the returned text content as markdown: 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 21/05/2025Geminip-2.5-pro is officially my favorite model: 1. I read the requirements 2. We write code 3. I tell it to change something because it doesn't work as requested 4. It pulls up a requirement I overlooked that my change would break When did Google become so good at AI? 🤯 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 21/05/2025*completes a hackathon project on a Wednesday that would have taken a month to implement without AI* nobody: a random dev: idk, I feel AI is not there yet... 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 20/05/2025Sometimes, I see tech 𝕏 and I just want to brush up on my linear algebra, statistics, and probability from college, make ML models, and build a spaceship in my garage 010
Akos @akoskm.com · 19/05/2025I use React too, but it ends up statically generated with @astro.build 100
Akos @akoskm.com · 19/05/2025I never used more complicated systems for my blogs. They were always statically generated, so I rarely saw these in yellow 😀 100
Akos @akoskm.com · 19/05/2025GM devs! Training first thing in the morning keeps me calm when Claude tells me, "Oh, you're right," five times in a row. 😂 Are you done with your morning workout? 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 17/05/2025Last year, I switched to a full-time gig because I wanted to see what happens at scale. I was always shipping SaaS/apps to mid-sized clients. Here, it's massive data pipelines, petabytes of data, and enterprise clients who rely on your software to keep ticking. This is cool. 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 15/05/2025Imagine ignoring basic algorithmic complexity and relying on LLMs to speed up your code LLM coders, do you check the performance of the generated code? 000
Akos @akoskm.com · 15/05/2025I guess That's the reason why I stopped posting here, tbh. I didn't want to spam my cringe in two places. From time to time, I look back, but there are few people who read my stuff here. 010
Akos @akoskm.com · 15/05/2025Random guy: pitches some crypto scheme with 30% returns Me: Congrats, glad it's working out for you, but I'm not interested Them: block 🚫 100
Akos @akoskm.com · 15/05/2025I didn't feel this was a big leap as it was marketed. I thought I'd have to brush up on my linear algebra from uni, but the thing is, most of the time I'm using either pre-trained models, or do some training on company-specific context, but I'm using existing APIs, like langchain or ai sdk 050
Akos @akoskm.com · 15/05/2025Last night I got an extra hour and made a video for folks who still haven't made an MCP and think it's too big of a gap, and they're behind... This was me a couple of weeks ago. MCPs will spread like wildfire because they are simple to build and run. youtu.be/YJ3iPXqiN7g...youtube.comCreate Your First MCP Server with TypeScriptI'll show you how you can create your first MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server with TypeScript and run it with Bun inside Claude Desktop. If you want to lear... 000
