I keep forgetting to post on here, so’m…here’s a word count update on the draft of my Rapunzel retelling I’m working on edits for. My goal is 30k and I’m on chapter 9 of 13 + the epilogue. Think I’ll definitely get to 30k! #amwritingfantasy

But it totally and completely depends on the feedback being given, and what type it is (grammar/sentence structure VS plot/character development, for example).

The general rule I try to keep in mind these days is that if one person says it, it’s their opinion (depending on what it is), and I should keep it in mind. If multiple people say the same thing as the first, I should probably take it seriously and consider it.

I also tend to break things any time I try to tweak coding, lol 😂 which is one reason why Wordpress and I are not always the best of friends, it can be a pain to deal with if you accidentally break something in the coding (at least in my experience).

I use Dreamhost as the actual host for the website ‘cause it comes with Wordpress. It does come with a way to search for free templates without having to go off of the website, but I don’t like most of them, lol. I do know basic HTML but that’s about it, I’m very rusty with it.

#writingcommunity Fantasy authors who use Wordpress for their websites, throw your author website link at me! Also throw any FREE Wordpress templates you know of. I’m looking to possibly redesign my website and need some massive inspiration. Wordpress and I are not the best of friends -_-

How do you KNOW when, after you’ve done a round or two of alpha reading and self-editing, that a draft is ready for line edits, possibly by a professional editor (depending on finances)? Imposter syndrome is apparently a thing for me with this XD. #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity

My alpha reader has been reading my Rapunzel retelling for less than a week, and these three (separate) comments are just *some* of the things she’s given for reactions so far ❤️ it’s definitely nice getting these reactions so far! #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity

Writing the romance between these two has literally been so fun! I’ve been adding new scenes and backstory with this first round of edits and omg 😍 they are too adorable for words, and I can’t wait for the day I finally publish this book for everyone to read! #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity

I’m working on editing a gender-swap Rapunzel retelling (Prince is the one in the tower and he’s rescued by the FMC). I guess if I had to guess I’d say it’s YA romance, but I’m terrible at determining what genre a WIP really belongs to 😂

I printed out my #nanowrimo draft, so I can start going through and making notes (which I doubt will take me that long to do XD). It’s only 56 single sided pages 🤦🏻‍♀️. I think resisting starting edits is gonna be harder than originally thought. #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity #nanowrimo

They say to wait at least a month before starting on edits, but I don’t think I can wait that long, and I *hate* editing. I plan on at least making notes. Besides waiting, what are your biggest tips for starting edits on a novella? #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity #amediting

I thought about getting both shots at once but decided against it…which is probably a good thing, I got the covid booster almost two weeks ago and ended up with a fever from it -_- still need to get the flu shot.
