How do you KNOW when, after you’ve done a round or two of alpha reading and self-editing, that a draft is ready for line edits, possibly by a professional editor (depending on finances)? Imposter syndrome is apparently a thing for me with this XD. #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity

Writing the romance between these two has literally been so fun! I’ve been adding new scenes and backstory with this first round of edits and omg 😍 they are too adorable for words, and I can’t wait for the day I finally publish this book for everyone to read! #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity

I printed out my #nanowrimo draft, so I can start going through and making notes (which I doubt will take me that long to do XD). It’s only 56 single sided pages 🤦🏻‍♀️. I think resisting starting edits is gonna be harder than originally thought. #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity #nanowrimo

They say to wait at least a month before starting on edits, but I don’t think I can wait that long, and I *hate* editing. I plan on at least making notes. Besides waiting, what are your biggest tips for starting edits on a novella? #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity #amediting

Just finished writing the first draft to my Rapunzel retelling, with 23,824 words (making it a novella). Obviously not getting to 50k with it, but that’s okay. With editing, I can probably stretch it out to around 30k. #nanowrimo #amwritingfantasy

Writing+watching The Wizard of Oz on TV for the millionth time=my Saturday night There’s just something special about watching this live on TV. It’s my favorite movie, and damn if Over the Rainbow doesn’t give me chills every single time I watch it. #amwritingfantasy #nanowrimo #writingcommunity

So’m…I’m starting to really get the feeling that I am not going to reach 50k of this draft for NaNo without going back into the draft and trying to do a bunch of word padding. Not necessarily a bad thing, but…🥴 #nanowrimo #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunity

I was home all day and basically did nothing but watch three movies, and I’m like…6k behind where I should be for NaNo 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m definitely slowing down more now that I’m closer to the end of this story. Need to poke my brain into producing some words. #nanowrimo #amwritingfantasy

This is tough…but I guess when it comes down to it, it was Juliet Marillier, who wrote the Sevenwaters series, who inspired me to start writing regular fantasy (instead of the fan fiction I was pretty much mostly writing). I fell in love with her book, Daughter of the Forest, in 11th grade.

I’m not the best at opening lines 😅 but here we go Meira's arm felt heavy as her fingers traced the letters etched into the cold, smooth stone marking her sister, Eirian's, grave.

Guuuuys… I’m writing chapter sixteen right now. I don’t have much left to write of my outline! And I’m a severe underwriter, esp w/first drafts, so 😅 if I get to 50k I’ll be shocked. I think I have a novella on my hands. #nanowrimo #amwritingfantasy

That moment when the scene/chapter you’re writing is just *so good* and exciting and important to the story, you don’t even want to share part of it as a teaser so that it can be a surprise to your eventual readers 👀 #nanowrimo #amwritingfantasy
