bsky.app/profile/jaso... Here's that clip, shoutout to @jasonoun.bsky.social. Three separate instances from the past here. Looks like Jade Cargill is the only one who even comes close to catching her in the last one. The training accident is scary enough that she never should've tried it again imo

Turns out she's posted multiple clips of herself almost landing on her head from great heights trying stuff like this in training. And there's another clip going around of her specifically saying she's nervous about this exact spot because no one ever catches her. Very concerning situation.

I was literally just telling someone that Nigel is incredibly lucky to be as healthy as he is today.

Dude was way ahead of his time. So innovative and entertaining, and then he just... vanished?

Apparently a big factor is the emphasis on rolling bumps in lucha, as opposed to flatbacks elsewhere. Doesn't explain the knees though.

Severe illness ended my athletic career, so I've had to completely reevaluate what I consider a "win" in health/fitness. I often remind myself that "doing my best" is a relative benchmark, not an absolute one. Today's best might look like yesterday's rest, so we just do what we can. It's not linear

Akeil @akeilaman.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

I wish I could say something helpful, but I know how demoralizing this sort of thing can be. For whatever it's worth, every little bit counts; it doesn't have to be all or nothing. If you can find the resolve to stay active in your daily life, that goes a long way towards overall health and fitness

Related, I think I remember Veda Scott (maybe someone else?) was offering a service at one point of re-dubbing old women's matches with new commentary, so that the wrestlers could actually share and be proud of their work. Ridiculous that that's necessary, but those were some rough years.

And when we got a rare women's match, it was typically less than 5 minutes and filled with gross commentary. If it was even on the main card.
