Amazing nymag.com/intelligence...
Do you have any experiences from when you were there — something you believed that you felt you would have a hard time getting through to people?
JC: Yeah, definitely. When I first joined, there was a Slack channel with a Claude that had been trained to solve humor. And they were like, “Yeah, we solved humor. Here’s the Claude. We’ve solved it.” And I was in the chat like, “No, you haven’t. You clearly haven’t solved humor. What the hell is this?”

People still fixate villainoze and cherry pick talmud, the comparatively more interesting, contiguous with Christianity, open ended text... While perennial, esoteric weirdos treat zohar and kabbalah as the proto Christian thing that higher initiates like themselves are lucky enough to experience.

Lurianic kabbalah talks about lying face down on graves so as to absorb latent soul remnants. Same with Isaac Luria talking about himself and his disciples being transmigrated souls of early biblical figures. Because you know luria would read your foreheads for to identify your soul line.

Some leftwingers behave as if being a weeaboo for USSR automatically gives them some kind of plot armour against antisemitism. As if Stalin himself wasn't paranoid about jews and post ussr Russia still had antisemitism primed enough for fusing with esoteric conspiracies.

I thought the importance of imagination and nafs felt similar to boehme. Didn't know about Eckhart.

It would be the worst but looking at the folk Catholic infatuation with visions I'm afraid something like this might happen.

Wouldn't combining Catholic charismatic groups with Jakob boehme bring it closer to akbari sufism?

Influenced jahangir, got support of nobles and military heads. I think the sirhindi lineage influenced Aurangzeb. Wonder if there was a middle ground between sirhindi and extreme syncretism which could've prevented the bloodshed and tragedies.

When the sikhs were going forward with their guru lineage, sirhindi was going forward with his qayyum lineage. The guy declared himself the qayyum, above qutb. The reviver of the second millennium, the self sustaining pillar. The qayyumate continued for four generations.

Use brave. They have their own crawler. You can turn off the AI summary feature too. Their map api connects default to open street maps instead of google maps.

Getting that middle ground(if it's there) would be fun to use as talking points with reformed protestants online.

I've read these guys, zanchi and vermigli, had thomist education and leanings more than calvin. Also I vaguely remember something about grace destroys nature vs grace repairs nature, or something like that as a contrast you used to say.

Would it be better if Barth is ditched for someone like Herman bavinck? Or a broader Presbyterian umbrella is considered, like zanchi, vermigli, turretin than just calvin?

Something like cactus needle, trained for specific domains and constrained by 1980s aircraft manual english seems like expert models that was built by tantrum throwing teens that didn't want their parents in the loop, but has looped back to what they tried to avoid.

Akash @akdv.bsky.social · 11/08/2026
I mean this looks like going back to symbolic AI, expert systems and all that. I think maybe that's good. But then why did all those massive data centers had to be built if chaining expert systems was going to be the ideal end result?

Akash @akdv.bsky.social · 11/08/2026
Then there's this. Wanting LLM AI to be constrained by technical, aircraft manual english so that usual 'slop' writing is controlled.

Akash @akdv.bsky.social · 11/08/2026
Hearing that a new LLM AI model, cactus needle is in market. It distills and compacts the parameter length from usual billions(1b, 2b etc) to just 26 million. It's mainly for function calling. And the main usp is that no need of GPU or high RAM. cactuscompute.com

I feel bad about the people that got caught along on the wave of that religion, but i don't think india needs something like this on the other side of the border. Something falun gong influenced coming up on the foundations that the ccp built is going to be, not good.

Maybe it's a good thing this movement is being suppressed considering what I read about them on wiki. The Chinese already have a propensity towards kooky beliefs, like their belief in folk lucky charm practices. A popular guy talking about aliens influencing modernity can lead to issues.

In case someone sees this : I think this is good. Saw a Richard seaford yt video & the soul concept of hindus and Greeks having parallels to money form. Felt like buddha nuked the prevalent soul doctrines of Jains and Samkhya philosophers(hindus), so that 'abrahamic' concept could repair it later

Does this mean this definition of soul leans closer to Buddhism, than Jainism or Hinduism?

It's trained on unscrupulously mined human essence. Built to to mimic humans using that. And it's purposely built on GPUs instead of CPUs, which inherently makes accumulated error given behavior. Yes you get speed, but you sacrifice certainty for it. Gen AI is more like golems

Nowadays maybe here and there, or during reminiscence and there's memory attached to it. Maybe it's a good thing. I don't think I miss it that much.
