Weirdly misogynistic too. Romance readers are overwhelmingly women who are apparently too silly to understand when a book is badly written. What genre has more to say about the human condition than a book about love. They are as important as any other genre.

Watched Youth on HBO last night and the story about the protagonist’s son being ostracised at college for mistakenly drunkly assaulting a girl does not land well given the circumstances. Of all the issues for Sharon Horgan to centre not sure why she’s gone for how difficult it is for young men not

Context: I have a list of tasks on my phone I could knock out in under an hour on a good day. Good days are not now so I’m chipping away at it and yeah it’s getting done slowly and poorly but it’s still getting smaller instead of bigger so it counts.

Yeah I’ve watched all of Lucifer I thought all the seasons worked well too. Season 4 was on Netflix after its original cancellation. It’s one of the strongest seasons IMO but I do have a soft spot for the looseness the 22 ep network run gave the first 3 seasons.

Lucifer is the show that caught its vibe most closely for me but even that is closer to Angel really. Has the right blend of funny and serious. Big arcs, strong ensemble cast. Extraordinary also had real potential before it was axed.
