Here we have Charlie & Caitlin Cattle Egrets with Kermit the Frog, and Charlie was saying to Kermit that if he didn't eat him, Caitlin would bash his head in before eating him.
So Charlie did the decent thing and dispatched Kermit while he was still alive to stop him suffering.

A very elderly #dragonfly that I saw yesterday at East Wichel. Female Common Darters start out yellow and turn brown when they get old. Sometimes a really old one will start to turn red - this is about as red as I've ever seen one. #UKWildlife #invertebrates #insects
