Bandai’s Q3 financial report is up. Let’s look at Bandai’s 3 toku franchises and see how they’re doing. Short version: Rider’s down a little, Ultraman’s down a lot, Sentai is up a tiny bit.

Once again you have eluded me 😭

This thing is way bigger than I expected it to be 😅 absolutely love it though, I've wanted figures based on the ED animation for ages. I can't believe it took this long to get them

Doctor Who twist wasn't a shock but I'm interested to see where it goes and the actress seems great from the little we've seen. Also while the concept surrounding it is still stupid it worked way better here than previously.

I was not ready for the size of that box 😬

I like this accessory set a lot, but Bandai really cheaped out not including spare shoulder joints for the arms. Switching them feels like a ticking time bomb, already had one split apart and get stuck whilst switching them (thankfully fixable). Might just get another Luffy while they're cheap tbh.

At half his original retail price, this might just be my best Mandarake bargain yet!

Bought a cheap Zeo Gold off of AliExpress, had heard the LC figures on there were legit but hadn't necessarily passed QC tests. Figure arrived today and the boot cuffs are a bit spotty, but let's be honest - a retail version could have very easily looked like this.

Can definitely see this winding up in my top 10 at the end of the year. Hell of a release.

Merry sails again! After expressing my annoyance at the Chogokin Going Merry last week, I've had a go at repairing the broken front rope with some waxed cord and I'm pretty pleased with the result!

In better (and considerably cheaper) toy news I'm loving this guy. I do have a few minor complaints (most of all he feels weird without the black shading) but super happy to have him!

MASSIVELY unimpressed with the Chogokin Going Merry 25th Anniversary Memorial edition. Assembly is an absolute nightmare, the ropes are all too short and too inflexible to peg into their respective sockets. Especially the front one which promptly snapped upon trying 😩

"Kikaider: The Ultimate Human Machine" is a terrible name and doesn't work on multiple levels like Kikaider Reboot but nevertheless as one of the few champions of that movie it is my sworn duty to rebuy the hell out of it.

Fantastic finale to Wingman. Now to consume as much of the manga and anime I can find translated.

This is my version of designer Tohl Narita's initial design for the monster, Garamon from the 1966 tv show, "Ultra Q" which was elongated and had a more fish-like face. The look of Garamon in the show is perfection, but it was fun to explore an alternate timeline!

My new hope for Bandai in 2025 is that they repaint/remould the hell out of this figure. Give me The First version, give me both Rider 2 versions, give me the Shocker Riders, give me V3. This figure is incredible and I want to experience it more than once.

As well as a conscientious effort to post more on here this year (and I mean it this time), I'm also going to make more effort to share my reviews since I kinda fell off doing that regularly in the last few years as well. So here's some stuff I've already cooked up in 2025...

Disney closing MuppetVision 3D in Hollywood Studios is a sad loss, but this is the absolute best re-theming they could have done for Rock n Roller Coaster 😍😍

What is the point of Royal Mail having a tracking system if it just gives up when it's nowhere near me? I just want my SHF Nami 😭😭
