Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Day 251 The dosage increase of topiramate came with really concerning side effects, so yeah that's not happening anymore. It was nice not having migraines for a while but the Forever Headache refuses to hide unless it's raining. I need to move back to the coast. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 12/10/2026EI claim delay means we have to rely on family and credit to pay bills, eat, and scrape together November's rent. We resigned our lease tho and are getting December's rent free so while it doesn't immediately help, we can at least use that month to breathe and catch up a bit ❤️ 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Municipal and provincial ballots done. Now to go to the post office because I never even considered that I'd have to pay for postage on a municipal mail in ballot, and also, who the fuck has stamps on hand these days anyway? 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Day 244 Topiramate week 1 Works wonders for migraine and I'm noticing a distinct absence of daily aura and subsequent migraine. But The intracranial hypertension headache, while (usually) a bit dulled, is still quite problematic. Tomorrow I increase the dose. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Charging $53 for a medical auth note for 2 weeks off work is predatory. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I've discovered that Topiramate makes carbonated drinks taste flat and I don't think I can handle the implications of that 😭 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I should've had the CT months ago. I shouldn't have had to hound my doctor for months about getting me one within a reasonable timeframe. I should've been given immediate treatment options. I shouldn't have to fight so fucking hard to be believed. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I ended up in Emerg Sunday for unrelated abdominal pain. I brought it up during my appt and was just told it wouldn't have affected the headache. No, but it's the latest addition to the mountain of stress my body's been under since February, so it's extremely fucking relevant. 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Day 237 Broke down and requested med leave. Asked for 1 mo. Got 2 wks. My CT is proof the headache is in fact as bad as I've said, yet I'm still treated like I should just be able to function like a healthy person while also having other debilitating chronic illnesses. 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 22/09/2026That being said, when we were first signed with a Manulife thru work, I wasn't even on the plan at all initially, and some random guy who's never even worked for the company was listed as my SO's dependent. So, I have a feeling they're not the most competent company out there. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 22/09/2026I'm covered under my SO's insurance, am confirmed to have vision coverage, and I've never had issues with direct billing anywhere else. 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Real fucking bold of Manulife to send me this today when they pretended I didn't exist on Friday and I was forced to pay out of pocket for my optometrist appointment 💀 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Day 227 Referred to a neuro-opthalmologist, which will take gods know how long, and to an optometrist for imaging in the meantime. Optometrist says no sign of papilledema. Now to follow up with the doc to request other tests while I wait for the specialist. 001
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Day 219 It just hit me: I got similar headaches nearly every weekend for months before this was constant. I thought it was just some mild dehydration. I never kept track of anything because I've had chronic headaches for many years, so how long has this really been going on? 020

Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 10/09/2026This doesn't mean the end of the fight, though. More tests are likely, which means more infuriating wait times. That is, if I'm not just dismissed as fat, despite currently being thinner than any point in well over a decade. I like to think my doctor knows better by now, but. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Day 217 CT report points to intracranial hypertension. I'm elated something - anything - showed, because my tests are so frequently normal it's always a miracle to have any kind of solid proof. Talking to my doc next week to see what the next steps are. 110
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Day 210 CT done. It took 30 seconds. I hate that I had to suffer for several months, take a day off work, and travel to a whole ass other city for something that took 30 fucking seconds, when it could have easily been done here, if local healthcare actually functioned properly. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I don't give a fuck if you wrote him off as "just an addict on a stolen bike" or some such shit. He deserves compassion like the rest of us, and your lack of humanity is disgusting. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 02/09/2026My mom and I happened upon someone earlier that had fallen off their bike. He wasn't moving. The street was busy and people clearly noticed him, but we were the only ones to stop. Luckily he was ok, but what if he wasn't? How the fuck do you people live with yourselves? 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 22/08/2026It's raining! We've had less than 1mm since the end of June and it's finally raining ❤️ 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Wildfire smoke apparently seriously aggravates the headache and I've had to rely on T3s to keep the pain in check. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Continuous headache Day 191: It took 5.5mo and requisition resubmission, but I FINALLY have a CT appt. It's out of town, but I'll take it. Sept 2. Not optimistic about gaining any clarity from the results, but I need the CT before we can try to explore other avenues. 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 08/08/2026The Bald Range fire is more than twice the size of the Quilpituk and Bradley fires combined, and it only started last night, in case you were wondering just how dry it is out there. 033
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 03/08/2026The aqi is around 150 right now and giving me a massive headache while I'm inside with the door and windows shut tight, and my neighbours have been out there chillin on their balcony for like an hour. Healthy people just do not give a shit about anything do they? 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 22/07/2026Sensitivity to my body has been key thru this, for sure. Even in the worst of it, my smartwatch usually didn't quite reflect the severity of what I felt. I woke up Sunday morning and felt calmer than I have in several weeks, like I could breathe again and finally see the end of this. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 20/07/2026My nervous system has been in fight or flight mode for weeks, with lasting internal tremors and elevated resting heart rate. I cut out caffeine (my lifeline these days) in an effort to calm it. It may have helped a bit? Def not back to baseline yet but I feel much better today. 110
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 05/07/2026I'll bring it up with my doc next appt and see if it's a possibility. It's taking weeks for me to come down from each of these episodes so it seems to fit better than serotonin syndrome. I'm mostly wondering why it's suddenly a problem when I've been taking bupropion for years. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 05/07/2026I've been googling and discovered neuroleptic malignant syndrome, which is very similar to serotonin syndrome but is more gradual in its buildup and required detox. Its main trigger is sensitivity to drugs like bupropion. Bupropion alone doesn't trigger serotonin syndrome. 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 05/07/2026Still feeling a bit off, so waiting another week or so before starting the lower dose again, I'll be on it for prob 3mo before going back up again. 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 27/06/2026I've been diagnosed with major depressive disorder for nearly 30 years and this is the first time such a thing has happened with my meds. It's confusing, upsetting, and disheartening. This raises so many what ifs, and it's the exact wrong time in my life to be in such a position. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 27/06/2026The saga continues: The lower bupropion dose was fine and I thought I'd be good to raise it to the normal dose after 30days, but here I am with serotonin syndrome-like symptoms again, so now I'm questioning everything. Doc appt Thurs, I'll ask for more of the lower dose. 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 21/06/2026I've played for well over a decade and I've learned so much from it. It genuinely hurts to have to leave a game I love so much. 000

Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 08/06/2026We've been in our apartment for a full year now. Normally we'd be so disgusted by poor management or shitty neighbours we'd be ready to pack up and gtfo, but we're both quite content here. I hope we can hang on to this home for a long time. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 02/06/2026Looking forward to all the cishet assholes losing their shit this month over some flags and people having the audacity to exist outside their bubbles of lies and shame. 000

Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 23/05/2026I really missed hearing songbirds 🥹 It's so calming to listen to the robins at dusk. They start singing around 4am too so it's like a little lullaby if i'm having trouble sleeping. 010
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 22/05/20262 weeks now off my regular meds to detox. I have a lower dose of bupropion to take once I feel the fluoxetine may be out of my system, and I might try it on the weekend, because these levels are ludicruous. It wasn't even this bad when the serotonin toxicity was at its worst. 001
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 11/05/2026And no, I'm not implying fluoxetine itself is the issue. I've taken it before with no problem. Just mixing it with other meds is apparently not good for me. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 11/05/2026Since this is the second medication I've had thay reaction to, I'm told I'm sensitive to serotonin syndrome. This limits treatment options for me, for depression, anxiety, migraines, fatigue, among other things. It's very discouraging. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 11/05/2026Fluoxetine stays in your system for up to 5 weeks btw and taking your regular meds will continue to trigger serotonin syndrome as long as it's still present, so uhhhhh yeah that's real fun for someone that has major depressive disorder 200
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 02/05/2026Apparently I traded meds that kept me up at night with horrible restless legs for ones that caused serotonin syndrome instead 🙃 I took myself off them as soon as I realized what was happening but some of my muscles are still freaking out a few days later. I'm so sore ugh 000

Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 21/04/2026I was told to wait another month and follow up so he can try to escalate it further. For an urgent brain scan. We *need* more healthcare workers and expanded services, now. 000
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 21/04/2026Day 76: Doc confirmed the urgent CT request was sent March 17, so as usual it points to the poor state of the BC healthcare system. Interior Health isn't blameless here, but the system is broken province-wide and so much more still needs to be done. @davidebybc.bsky.social 100
Aiure @aiure.bsky.social · 20/04/2026Day 75: No CT yet, and I have a doc appt tomorrow specifically so I can ask him why the everloving fuck an "urgent" request is now more than a month old with zero movement. Do I need to be actively dying to get care? It shouldn't be this difficult. It shouldn't take this long. 000
