Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 05/10/2026The self-awareness about that reaction is refreshing. Good to hear him acknowledge that it was, in fact, pretty silly of him. 000
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 04/10/2026True. Wild to think how the pool just got even deeper with Raines and Mehmeti showing well. If Benja Cremaschi starts getting serious minutes at Parma this season... 😳😳😳 000
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 04/10/2026If Mexico had taken the lead instead, does Poch still send Robinson upfield? Would take a lot more guts, with that game state. 000
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 04/10/2026And it absolutely worked for the first 20, 25 mins. Poch threw Robinson upfield, twisted their man marking scheme out of plumb, Marquez didn't seem to have a fallback, and then we take the lead. 210
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 04/10/2026It's like, a team is down to 10 men in a rivalry match, other team is absolutely still on the hunt, tempers flaring, there's blood in the water... Just a little more tactical awareness would have told them not to cut away from the action. 110

Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I can imagine depts of public safety working with their dispatch centers to collect data for benchmarking response times. Probably have inter-city conferences presenting on this kind of thing. 011
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 29/09/2026You'd also probably want to collect data at protests (or road closures of any kind--marathons, for example) in several different locations in the same metro area, and compare across metro areas. 160

Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Agreed. Even the players we've retained look like better versions of themselves. A lot of work to do, but we've clearly raised the standard. 000
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Kijima and Stroud kept getting minutes over Clark. And then Ordaz comes over and started doing what I thought Clark was going to do. Did Weiler really want Clark? Did Kasper step in and pull strings no one really wanted him to pull? A mystery. 000
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Agreed. The circumstances behind the trade were always a bit surprising. Clark didn't ask for the trade and didn't expect it. He got a few minutes, showed a little quality, but... What were they looking for that he wasn't giving them? Defensive work rate? 100
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Weiler hasn't done nearly enough to develop Markovic. But Levien is even more to blame bc Weiler's talent dev fumbles wouldn't be nearly as costly if DC had an MLSNP side. Can only hope Dr. LinkedIn is spamming Levien's inbox with Kieran's MLSNP piece every morning of every day. 000
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Does Kasper still have sway with player recruitment?? I thought he was essentially done at the club 100

Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Nono looks like a great pickup, probably shouldn't be a surprise how he fit right into Weiler's system like a Lego brick, had to remind myself this is only like, week 2 of employment with the club 120
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Once again I am reminded how the failure to secure an MLSNP pipeline is a failure that will haunt us for years. Could get Markovic & maybe even Peltola easy minutes at CB, work them into the senior CB rotation for games like this without having to phone a cardiologist first 110
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Paging @jasondcsoccer.bsky.social Nate gets it. Collab w/ GLS?? 110
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 14/08/2026This analysis is excellent, with some interesting data points for the sharp-eyed DC fan. Chatted with Nate a bit. Seems pretty clear that DC has been working on corners as the season goes on. Also pretty clear that Barlett is consistently dangerous, if we can get him better service. 011
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 14/08/2026This is plausible to me, and I think fouls are also a factor. DC (Bartlett) have been earning the attention of the refs for extracurriculars in the 6 fairly often this year. 000
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Notably, we've switched up who takes the corners this year. Hopkins was taking them early, Peglow sometimes. Now it's Kurokawa, who has to be one of the better wide service providers in the league this year, dead ball or otherwise. Frees up Hopkins to put his physical tools to better use in the 6. 100
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 14/08/2026... is still pretty mid (upper end of the middle 50%). If Weiler called you up and asked whether the underlyings say he's doing a good job or bad job on corners, what would you say? 100
Ainsw0rth @ainsw0rth.bsky.social · 14/08/2026I can't tell whether the data is implying DC are more or less efficient with their corners. They have a shorter distance to first touch, and they have a higher xGpc than other teams when plotting first touch distance against xG, but their overall xGpc, holding other factors equal... 100
