Harmful industries have been left to completely infiltrate and saturate our sport. Alcohol companies sponsor every AFL & NRL club - gambling companies aren't far behind. It's impossible to watch our favourite sports without being bombarded with prompts for alcohol and gambling.

Gambling, alcohol and unhealthy food ads follow us everywhere we go: across social media, sport, TV and streaming, and on the street. That’s what we want to change through ‘Give us an ad break’, which we launched alongside the Alliance for Gambling reform and the Food for Health Alliance last week.

Good news story! Today the ACMA announced the decision to not register revisions the commercial TV industry proposed for the Commercial Television Industry Code of Practice. This means that 800+ additional hours will not open up for alcohol ads to further flood our TVs.

A timely study drawing attention to the mandatory requirements now in place for alcohol companies to display the evidence-based pregnancy health warning. The study shows that many alcohol companies delayed introducing the warnings during the lengthy three-year transition phase.
