The cubs just passed their .5 year birthday, Odie on the right celebrated by going over the 5 kilo mark with Harry 350g less although he makes up for it in cuteness. That's 11 freedom units to those who celebrate, big even for Norwegian Forest Cats and heavier than this great egret #birds #cats

At the pond on a nearly perfect morning, this guy prowled for breakfast. Black Necked Stilts live and breed here. I am thankful. #birds

A long legged Black and White Wading Bird, a Black Necked Stilt, looks directly at the camera, the back and foreground is the inky blue black of a still pond, his mirror image looks up only slightly altered by the ripples his long red-orange legs make. Just right of him is a small branch poking out of the water. All the other images are very similar with him facing left ot right. If anyone reads this, I didn't know what to say about the other images, would it be better if I described them if the it was only "in this image he is facing left" or the like? Please let me know, I would be happy to, if it would make a difference to anyone.

Before coming here, I had never seen a duck do this, but West Indian Whistling Ducks seem quite good at it. #birds

A while back I posted our, yet to be adopted by, kittens, here they are now at 12 weeks old! Harry (King Harald) and Odin. In the image with both Harry is facing camera. And Odin is facing camera in the image with Leo our 3y/o. All are Norwegian Forest Cats #cats

On a brown tile floor is Harry a 1kg 12 week old kitten, he is looking at the camera and has a white front that forms a triangle at the top of his head with black on his right that makes an eye patch. His ears with the inside fur is typical of Weegies (Norwegian Forest Cats)

Here we have harry looking at us with Odin in a wooden mixing bowl looking left. This is their just woke up look! Harry is white and black and Odin is predominantly white with some light brown and black patches

Her Odin in below Leo, he faces the camera with one white paw over the rim of the cat tower bowl he is in. Leo is a 8.7kg 3y/o tabby patterned who the kittens seem to adore, he is very tolerant of their non stop play.

Here is Odin looking at the camera, his face is white with a touch of brown on top of his head. He is next to my 1L Yeti and is about the same size.

Very large 2yr old Norwegian Forest Cat sitting on railing in my wifes office. He's a traditional tabby in colour and at his last visit to the litter robot weighed 8.3kg

Very small Norwegian forest cat playing around at the breeders a couple weeks ago. He's Brown and White in an unusual colour pattern for a "weegie" with white on bottom and brown on top with an inverted "V" of white on his forehead. His eyes are brown but will be green when we fly him home

Another small "weegie" almost all white with some brown patches is looking at the camera. His eyes are also brown but are green now I am told.

White Crowned Pigeon seen at the nearby pond. I grew up in NY where city pigeons (Rock Doves) were considered rats with wings and a nuisance but the White Crowned is looked upon quite favourably here. John James Audubon loved them, his watercolours in "Birds of America"(1827) made them famous #birds

Been distracted by the fall of democracy back in the states so haven't posted pics, here's an American who came for vacation last december. She's an American Kestrel, the smallest raptor in America, who landed in the tree next to our house maybe looking for the small lizards she preys upon. #birds

A small bird of prey, in fact the smallest raptor in America, about the size of a Blue Jay or Mourning Dove, is perched on a branch with green leaves and blue sky behind her, she looks left in the image (her right) and you can see the yellow ring at the base of her beak. Her front is white with brown streaks, the top of her head dark brown, and her back brown but less dark. The other images are very similar

in this image she looks just right of the camera

Here she is slightly looking down maybe seeing a small lizard which are the majority of her prey down here

A very large white bird is in front of mangrove forest, it's neck curved and its yellow beak leads, it's 2.5m wings at the top of their beat and his long legs trail. You can see the yellow circle of his eye clearly. Great Egret

Even though these Northern Crested Caracara are most likely found near the ground foraging for carreon or engaging in kleptoparasitism they are the second largest species in the Falcon family. These guys were seen at Pico Bonito N.P. south of La Ceiba Honduras #birds

I saw someone had posted a Rad-Winged Blackbird a few days ago and found one I saw up on the south shore of Long Island NY. They are plentiful up there and will perch on the flimsiest of reeds, or beach grass. #birds
