What a way to close out my first semester as a tenure-track assistant professor at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi than by attending my first commencement ceremony! It was a particularly special day knowing that one year ago, I was in their same shoes. Congrats to all who walked the stage! 🎓🤙🏽

Had an amazing lunch at Leroy and Lewis Barbecue with @carltonfong.bsky.social! It was my first time at a Michelin ⭐️ restaurant and I already can’t wait to come again. Truly grateful for such a delicious meal with my advisor!

Two people are sitting at a small restaurant table with a platter of assorted barbecue dishes, including smoked meats, sides, and bread, placed between them. Each person has a drink with ice and a plate with utensils. The setting has a casual, modern vibe with dark walls, visible fire alarm boxes, and natural daylight coming in from the left. One person is wearing a black collared shirt, and the other is wearing a light gray T-shirt with a black shoulder strap.

It’s been almost a week since the announcements, but I’m beyond thrilled to share that part of my dissertation has been accepted, along with two other proposals, for #AERA25. I’m appreciative of this opportunity to present our research. Can’t wait to see everyone in Denver! #TXST
