We have that kind of people here in Portugal: we call them footb- I mean, soccer fans.

Still shorter than the game's credits.

David Ellison two years from now: OOPS! TIME TO DOWNSIZE (shuts down every studio under his arm and sells its remains to someone else)

I never liked David Zaslav, but not to the point of roaring on social media flooding everyone's feed with #FireDavidZaslav. In the end, they got served with the monkey paw. The outcry was ultimately a waste of time.

Reminder: those who wanted David Zaslav fired have contributed to this merger, directly or otherwise.

"I hate all of you" -Paine upon signing the Constitution.

His head probably grows back like a cartoon character after slamming its head into a wall.

The deafening silence before shouting "ribs" still gets me.

001

In light of today's news, definitely.

Jacob Geller's videos have always been pretentious trash imo, so I'm not shedding a tear to see his channel collapse overnight. Good riddance, though.

A thread of the movies, feature and short, that inspired my film Sweet Tomorrow, sorted by length.

101

Tarzan (1999) Dir. Kevin Lima, Chris Buck Contrary to many adaptations of Tarzan of the Apes, it breaks the mold when it comes to depicting gorillas, resembling the real life animals more than the stereotypical jungle movie monster. Sweet Tomorrow seeks to break the same stereotype for orangutans.

000

The Red Turtle (2016) Dir. Michael Dudok de Wit Yet another heartbreaking story by Dudok de Wit, and just like Father and Daughter, it's an impactful movie about the passage of time, as well as the survival of elements.

100

Nénnete (2010) Dir. Nicholas Philibert The documentary about the titular orangutan, the oldest in captivity, is a case study on an individual's personality and how layered these groups of apes are. I was fortunate to see Nénette in person in the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, months later.

100

Bambi (1942) Dir. Dave Hand Walt Disney's classic is a technical marvel and tour-de-force in storytelling, serving as the major inspiration for Sweet Tomorrow's themes of growth and maturity, as well as its third act.

110

Father and Daughter (2000) Dir. Michael Dudok de Wit A heartbreaking story beautifully told with hand-drawn silhouettes, with its brilliant approach to the passage of time being essential for Sweet Tomorrow's art style.

100

Stuart (2006) Dir. Zepe A movie that I haven't seen in 20 years, but it stuck with me for its dynamic camera and stark silhouettes.

100

Prologue (2015) Dir. Richard Williams The movie's selective use of color and dynamic camera movements inspired Sweet Tomorrow's art style.

100

There's a Rang-Tan in my Bedroom (2018) Dir. Philipp Comarella, Simon Griesser An innocuous short based on the children's book of the same name, drew controversy after it was screened on TV, deemed "too political" for its environmentalist message. This prompted my advocacy to protect orangutans.

Doing my research happy as a clam, until I keep finding THIS graph and remind me we could've had domestic dwarf elephants in our timeline.

Apologies to every norwegian fan out there, but my club played like dogshit in the world cup, so we kinda deserved the win.

Academy Award winner Mark Rylance, everyone.

The one thing that prevents Chernobyl's Wikipedia page to become a stub is its history that spans nearly a millennium. Pirpyat was built specifically to aid with the power plant and, assuming the past 40 years in the alt timeline were uneventful, it would probably merge with the former page.

000

Chernobyl's Wikipedia page went from 2678 words down to 1833, hardly a dent. However, Pirpyat becomes an almost nonexistent article, going from 1999 words down to 258. Not to mention that dozens of articles wouldn't exist at all, including pages to almost every individual involved in the disaster.

100

A while ago I dreamed about an alternate timeline where the Chernobyl disaster never happened and searching for it on Wikipedia gave me no results. Just for the fun of it I grabbed the city's Wikipedia page and stripped away any mentions of the disaster.
