My brother and I watched The Lighthouse, uh, a little Welsh bottle movie about why lighthouses were changed to have a minimum staff of three. I just searched and picked the movie with the title. I was expecting Willam Defoe to pop up in the corner any second now. It was very suspenseful.

I guess I crochet now. Here's a t-shirt finished. I'll update with the pattern author as soon as I remember it. Yarn is knitpicks comfy, which I don't like, but it has the benefit of going on sale for $1.50 from time to time. Midnight Heather and ?Light Shell?.

I wear a crochet t-shirt in vertical stripes. The color transitions from solid light pink in the center to sold black at the sides. The shirt has lots of black buttons and is on the edge of too small.

I'm using patterns from antiquepatternlibrary.org and modern patterns from Ukrainian magazine Duplet to make some Irish lace motifs for a project. Although I learned to knit first, I am enjoying the more free-form nature of crochet. All of these sources have a general attitude of "wing it."

I think I've actually managed to wear out a crochet hook?? It's super cheap and perhaps has a coating over a low-quality core because it is starting to get burrs all over. If only my grandmother's pre-WWII hooks had one in the size I need. They have lasted until now and show no signs of quitting.

The new Dracula movie is goofy as heck. Every scene is taken from a different movie, with uh interesting genre range. Only two of the actors elected to act, one of those did a good job. Love = nonstop banging, no baths, no food, no babies. Half of the main couple gets zero agency. (The F, duh.)

I finished knitting the zebra sweater. It may have several accidental short rows and a few places where I had to mysteriously add or subtract a stitch suddenly, but it looks visually great from an appropriate sweater viewing distance. (Bonus dog)

Thank God for iced tea. Boil 4 tsp darjeeling in water for 1 min and let rest for 5 min. Strain out leaves. Pour hot tea over ice from filtered water with juice from 1.5 lemons, 1-3 drops food-safe bergamot oil, and 1/2 cup of sweetener of your choice. Makes nearly three quarts.
