Fascinating find in a museum in Stari Grad, on the island of Hvar in Croatia. This is a clay mold from around 300 BCE, used by Ancient Greeks to make game pieces! Games are truly universal. (Nearby, a clay tablet was found accusing the devs of being lazy.)
An ancient stone mold - Greek, from around 300 BCE - used for making clay game pieces! An example piece is shown in the mold, looking very much like a Chess pawn. This is located on a museum in Stari Grad on the island of Hvar, Croatia.

They just don't care.
Drawing of a woman standing - head bowed - in front of a row of men - behind a long desk with papers in front of them.
One man is saying: "It's not that we don't believe your story, it's that we don't care."

INSULT LIKE SHAKESPEARE
MODERN SHAKESPEARE
What an idiot Behold, a fool of great ambition
Get a life Seek purpose beyond thy dwelling
You're ugly Nature hath been unkind to thee
You're a liar Thy tongue is steeped in falsehood
Nobody asked None requested thy counsel
Leave me alone Grant me peace, thou nuisance
Noboy likes you Thou art beloved by none
You're stupid Thy wit hath abandoned thee
Moron Thou witless fool
You're bad at this Thy talents are sorely lacking
Fuck off Begone from my sight
Touch grass Go forth and embrace nature

Ebba Lund (b. #OTD in 1923) was an extraordinary Danish chemical engineer, microbiologist & virologist who lived two distinct lives. Before becoming a towering figure in European #science, she was a fearless #WWII resistance fighter who personally saved hundreds of lives. 🧵 #WomenInSTEM
A close-up, black-and-white Photograph of Ebba Lund (1923–1999), the heroic Danish World War II resistance fighter, chemical engineer, and pioneering microbiologist. Lund is framed centrally against a dark, indistinct background. Her face is illuminated by a warm, genuine smile. Her short, textured, light hair is styled in a casual, piecey crop with soft bangs sweeping across her forehead. She is dressed in a cozy, dark-toned high-neck sweater or turtleneck layered under a thick, textured, knit or crocheted outer garment. The tight composition focuses entirely on her expressive, joyful face, evoking an intimate, friendly, and deeply resilient mood. This portrait carries profound historical significance; it presents the approachable visage of the legendary "Girl with the Red Beret" before pioneering crucial scientific frameworks in environmental virology to track and curb global polio epidemics.

Every exit leads back inside.
PHOTO by Alexander Zvir. The black and white photograph captures an old building with a zigzagging metal fire escape casting bold, diagonal shadows against its worn façade. The textured walls have peeling paint and visible cracks, while barred windows and locked double doors with intricate metal grilles add a sense of abandonment. The interplay of light and shadow emphasizes the geometric patterns and the passage of time.
