Turns out the reason my anxiety felt untreatable was, in fact, hyperthyroidism. Ever since I had my thyroid removed, my anxiety hasn't felt as extreme as pre-thyroidectomy. I do still have it, but I'm not as terrified to leave my house and deal with angry people as I was beforehand.
