I used to think "toe the line" meant something like "get really close without crossing the line, get your toe right up to it" meaning push the limit. But, no, it means obey authority, conform to the rules. I feel like that should be "tow the line" like pull the rope, serve the purpose. Ugh, words.

Normalize taking calls from the bathroom, maybe just for the folx with GI considerations for spending greater amounts of time in the bathroom. I didn't want to wait in distress or worry about receiving a call that won't be easy to call back. Like, especially doctors. They should understand, right?

I probably won't hear it, but I'm banking on noticing my screen light up, so the tripod is to keep my screen in sight. Then, I have a Bluetooth that answers the call when I turn it on. So, I'll stop my shower, put on my Bluetooth, and turn it on to answer because I won't be able to touch my screen.

I'm planning an elaborate setup with a tripod and mic in my shower, not to record or anything fun, but because I'm waiting for a call back from a cleaning service to schedule an appointment and I need to take a shower. Otherwise, my anxiety is going to make me wait for a call I might not even get.

I wonder if the AI slop spam in socials is intentional to disrupt the community that we've built. Get enough people disenchanted with the spaces where we connect to leave them. The enshitification of Twitter. The stigma of TikTok. The aggressive puritanization of Instagram. Trying to keep us apart.

Absolutely. Cherish every moment. Nothing makes it easy. We're planning on getting a kitten/young cat (rescue/foster) soon so he can pass on some of his good behaviors and personality. Also to give our other middle age cat a new playmate to let my elderly cat rest. Little cycle of life microcosm.
