I figure it's less knowledge and more the lack of will. The position of Congressman is personal prestige and power, made easier when you work with the powerful. Rocking the boat is against every Congressman's individual interest, and all it takes is a few to vote to do nothing to keep it going.

TNG is the show that raised me, so I love them and it was good to see them. But everything around the fun character moments sucked, Section 31 plot sucks, and 3/3 isolated plotlines for the series sucked. It felt like phoning it in to give Patrick Stewart a vehicle, which I am, ashamedly, here for.

It is really weird to hear calls for forgiveness of people who have never asked for forgiveness or shown the willingness to repent of their actions and seek reconciliation. That's the prerequisite. Without it, even putting forgiveness out there as a possibility is just encouraging the behavior.

In the second panel I start thinking about a skull on a pedestal I saw yesterday. In the third panel me and my colleague are standing in front of it. My colleague asks "whose skull is that???"
