Agreed, @afalkhatib.bsky.social. However, the shame lies with the shallow movement of fakes who use Palestinians as pawns as readily as Hamas does.

This war is taking an immense toll on the people of Gaza. Death, destruction, displacement. How much more can we take? When will it end?

Yet those who recognise these incontrovertible truths and understand the damage Hamas has done to the Palestinian cause are told by “activists” and “journalists” that they are not pro-Palestine.

Hamas's Islamist agenda has hijacked Palestinian national aspirations, sabotaged any prospects for peace, squandered our resources, got tens of thousands of our people killed. It has failed the Palestinian people in Gaza and beyond.

Within a generation, Gaza can break free: not just from war, but from the armed resistance ideology that keeps feeding it. A new model of Palestinian self-governance is possible, one that prioritizes dignity over destruction and prosperity over propaganda. This future isn’t a fantasy. It’s a choice.

I chose to break free from the endless cycle of hate and revenge. Honoring my family’s memory means rejecting violence on all sides and resisting the pull of rage, even as my community enforces conformity with narratives that are unhelpful to the just aspirations of the Palestinian people.

It’s time for a pro-Palestine movement that’s about more than being anti-Israel—a movement that challenges groupthink, embraces accountability, and demands real change for our people.

I’m done with the same narratives that only paint us as victims, denying our role in shaping our reality. Yes, we’ve suffered—but we’ve also been failed by our leadership and trapped by enforced conformity.

By its own rules of engagement, the IDF wouldn’t have tolerated this conduct in past Gaza wars. Those who upheld its god-level morality must face the horror of what unfolded. The NYT investigated the IDF’s actions after Oct. 7—these are their findings. See more details here at the link below:

Arrogance and class divisions between diaspora Palestinians VS. those in the land or between "urbanites" in major metropolitan areas VS. in suburban & rural places or "Falaheen" and Bedouins is a source of tension & part of the dysfunction within the Palestinian national project.

These are the same governments that banned the Muslim Brotherhood and outlawed Hamas from their own territories. Behind closed doors, diplomats whisper that Hamas has to go, but publicly? Not a word. Not a single call for Hamas to step down so Gaza can rebuild. (2/4)

Trump has kicked off a new wave of dehumanizing Palestinians. Let's remember who the real enemies are
President Trump's proposal for Gaza has set off a mass dehumanization of Palestinians on social media — with a real cost.

Sebag’s book on Jerusalem is a must-read, offering a nuanced, compelling history of the city at the heart of the Israel-Palestine conflict. While you may not agree with every conclusion, it’s an invaluable resource for understanding the holy city.

In an opinion piece for the Globe and Mail, I argue that Palestinians in Gaza have no future under Hamas, describing how the ceasefire is merely the first step, but without bold action, may become the last & would merely freeze the conflict.

Many Palestinians in Gaza are posting this photo to expose Hamas's manipulation of camera angles to overstate/inflate its supposed level of support. I said repeatedly that Hamas is going to pay, manipulate, & herd young men & boys into "victory" celebrations & hostage handovers.

Hamas's "Al-Aqsa Flood" has been a complete operational failure. But its propaganda succeeded in conquering Columbia University, college campuses, Western capitals, leftist circles, NGOs, most of the Arab world, the "pro-Palestine" community, "indy" media, activists & journalists

not to mention regional shifts that have weakened the axis of allies it once relied upon. But it is still in control despite tens of thousands of Palestinian lives lost, unimaginable destruction, and a high political, economic, social, diplomatic, and geostrategic cost to Israel.

by the Israeli government & military for the past 15 months who must be held accountable by their people for these failures, not to mention for their actions against Gaza’s entire society. Hamas is significantly weakened, isolated, likely unable to rearm, & not what it was on October 6

that this happened in northern Gaza, which experienced the most ferocious elements of the Israeli war, is a condemnation of the entire war strategy. That hostages are still in the north, and that sprawling networks of underground tunnels and facilities remain intact expose the fraudulent claims…

The video of hundreds of Hamas’s militiamen with their gear, vehicles, and weaponry casts serious doubt on all claims of the group’s imminent destruction. It exposes the fraud of Hamas’s “battalions” that were a measurement for progress during the war.
1132
Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
The video is reverberating around the Middle East to show the supposedly divine victory that was bestowed upon Hamas, who are supposedly courageous for holding women and children as hostages. But there’s something far more disastrous in this video that deserves dispassionate assessment and review.

Hamas released a propaganda video capturing the spectacle during which it handed over 3 young Israeli women to the Red Cross as part of the ceasefire/hostage deal in Gaza. In it, the terror group offers a certificate of release to the 3 young women who also received a gift bag w/ Hamas’ logo on it

This footage is feeding anti-Palestinian sentiments & inflaming right-wing Israelis’ desire to restart the war after phase 1. Qatari state media [Aljazeera] participating in this charade is predictable, but that a once highly respected NGO like the Red Cross is a willing participant is shameful.
0211
Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
The deal should have stipulated that the exchange happens in private and away from large crowds – Hamas should not be allowed to keep doing this, and the Red Cross should immediately halt future exchanges until new arrangements are made.
1221
Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
How shameful & embarrassing that parading young women by armed terrorists (who miraculously found their uniforms 15 months later) is considered a legitimate act of "resistance.
1141
Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
Hamas doesn’t care if the world sees Gazans as the aggressors or savages as long as it gets to assert its rotten, fascistic narrative, making the terror group the true enemy of the Palestinian people.

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
Shame on the Red Cross for being a willing participant in Hamas's despicable theatrics. Parading young Israeli female hostages in front of a mob of militants & local residents who were herded into participating in the spectacle is terrible for the women, and portrays Gazans in a horrendous light.

Netanyahu, the IDF, the war, and "total victory" slogans have all failed. Israel squandered billions, lost its international standing, lost hundreds of soldiers, acted arrogantly & shunned US advice on counterinsurgency strategy, only for Hamas to resume complete control of Gaza.

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
Hamas's methodology: fight in flip-flops & civilian clothes, hide in schools, hospitals, tunnels, set up aid theft/looting gangs, leave 2 million Gazans to face a ferocious war on their own, only to miraculously find your clean uniforms, guns & cars when a ceasefire is announced.

Aljazeera documented how Hamas's al-Qassam Brigade fighters emerged from the Nasser Hospital complex with their weapons and vehicles in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, as soon as the ceasefire went into effect, similar to how they emerged from displacement tents 3 days ago.

Oh Nerdeen, most in Gaza don't consider Hamasnik cultists like you in the West as Palestinian & loathe your fetishization of the "resistance" that's getting them slaughtered by Israel. If you wanted the killing to stop you wouldn't keep supporting Hamas which got Gaza annihilated.

The Netzarim Corridor is a line drawn in blood. As ceasefire talks unfold, and hopes are raised, will it usher in stricter rules of engagement, independent oversight, and mechanisms to protect civilians? Or will this deadly divide remain a symbol of suffering, Gaza’s grim legacy? Link in comments.

Why are 33 of my immediate & extended family members dead in the Gaza Strip? Why are tens of thousands of Palestinians dead & 75% of Gaza is destroyed? So Hamas terrorists could continue to rule the Strip? So that the Islamic Republic could "resist" Israel? Please explain to me💔
