Agreed, @afalkhatib.bsky.social. However, the shame lies with the shallow movement of fakes who use Palestinians as pawns as readily as Hamas does.

This war is taking an immense toll on the people of Gaza. Death, destruction, displacement. How much more can we take? When will it end?

Hamas's Islamist agenda has hijacked Palestinian national aspirations, sabotaged any prospects for peace, squandered our resources, got tens of thousands of our people killed. It has failed the Palestinian people in Gaza and beyond.

Within a generation, Gaza can break free: not just from war, but from the armed resistance ideology that keeps feeding it. A new model of Palestinian self-governance is possible, one that prioritizes dignity over destruction and prosperity over propaganda. This future isn’t a fantasy. It’s a choice.

I chose to break free from the endless cycle of hate and revenge. Honoring my family’s memory means rejecting violence on all sides and resisting the pull of rage, even as my community enforces conformity with narratives that are unhelpful to the just aspirations of the Palestinian people.

I’m done with the same narratives that only paint us as victims, denying our role in shaping our reality. Yes, we’ve suffered—but we’ve also been failed by our leadership and trapped by enforced conformity.

By its own rules of engagement, the IDF wouldn’t have tolerated this conduct in past Gaza wars. Those who upheld its god-level morality must face the horror of what unfolded. The NYT investigated the IDF’s actions after Oct. 7—these are their findings. See more details here at the link below:

Arrogance and class divisions between diaspora Palestinians VS. those in the land or between "urbanites" in major metropolitan areas VS. in suburban & rural places or "Falaheen" and Bedouins is a source of tension & part of the dysfunction within the Palestinian national project.

Trump has kicked off a new wave of dehumanizing Palestinians. Let's remember who the real enemies are
President Trump's proposal for Gaza has set off a mass dehumanization of Palestinians on social media — with a real cost.

Opinion: Palestinians have no future under Hamas
The unprecedented global wave of support for the Palestinian cause after Oct. 7 has been largely squandered

Many Palestinians in Gaza are posting this photo to expose Hamas's manipulation of camera angles to overstate/inflate its supposed level of support. I said repeatedly that Hamas is going to pay, manipulate, & herd young men & boys into "victory" celebrations & hostage handovers.

Hamas's "Al-Aqsa Flood" has been a complete operational failure. But its propaganda succeeded in conquering Columbia University, college campuses, Western capitals, leftist circles, NGOs, most of the Arab world, the "pro-Palestine" community, "indy" media, activists & journalists

Hamas released a propaganda video capturing the spectacle during which it handed over 3 young Israeli women to the Red Cross as part of the ceasefire/hostage deal in Gaza. In it, the terror group offers a certificate of release to the 3 young women who also received a gift bag w/ Hamas’ logo on it

Shame on the Red Cross for being a willing participant in Hamas's despicable theatrics. Parading young Israeli female hostages in front of a mob of militants & local residents who were herded into participating in the spectacle is terrible for the women, and portrays Gazans in a horrendous light.

Netanyahu, the IDF, the war, and "total victory" slogans have all failed. Israel squandered billions, lost its international standing, lost hundreds of soldiers, acted arrogantly & shunned US advice on counterinsurgency strategy, only for Hamas to resume complete control of Gaza.

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 19/01/2025
Hamas's methodology: fight in flip-flops & civilian clothes, hide in schools, hospitals, tunnels, set up aid theft/looting gangs, leave 2 million Gazans to face a ferocious war on their own, only to miraculously find your clean uniforms, guns & cars when a ceasefire is announced.

Aljazeera documented how Hamas's al-Qassam Brigade fighters emerged from the Nasser Hospital complex with their weapons and vehicles in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, as soon as the ceasefire went into effect, similar to how they emerged from displacement tents 3 days ago.

Oh Nerdeen, most in Gaza don't consider Hamasnik cultists like you in the West as Palestinian & loathe your fetishization of the "resistance" that's getting them slaughtered by Israel. If you wanted the killing to stop you wouldn't keep supporting Hamas which got Gaza annihilated.

The Netzarim Corridor is a line drawn in blood. As ceasefire talks unfold, and hopes are raised, will it usher in stricter rules of engagement, independent oversight, and mechanisms to protect civilians? Or will this deadly divide remain a symbol of suffering, Gaza’s grim legacy? Link in comments.

Why are 33 of my immediate & extended family members dead in the Gaza Strip? Why are tens of thousands of Palestinians dead & 75% of Gaza is destroyed? So Hamas terrorists could continue to rule the Strip? So that the Islamic Republic could "resist" Israel? Please explain to me💔
1298
Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 16/01/2025
So, which was it: a "genocide" or a victory for the "resistance"? People experiencing genocide don't generally emerge flexing and showing off in a cross-legged posture with a cup of tea to collect likes and shares. Why, folks? Why undermine Gazans' suffering with such nonsense?💔

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 16/01/2025
From Gaza to New York, the Palestinian people seriously deserve better "journalists" and "activists" to stop glorifying terrorism, death cultism, war, suicidal armed resistance, and fake notions of "victory" after screaming about "genocide" for 15 months. We deserve better 💔🇵🇸

It appears Yemen's Houthis will get away with piracy, terrorism & disrupting global maritime shipping lanes and freedom of navigation now that a Gaza ceasefire has been announced and they can end their attacks. If this happens, they'll emerge as the most potent of Iran's proxies.

Arabic social media of Palestinian accounts from Gaza & beyond shows the immense dismay & fury at Hamas's militias, claims, actions, "celebrations," & cowardly behavior - proving that no amount of propaganda will ever cover up the disaster that was 10/7 & the "resistance" fraud.
1175
Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 15/01/2025
Israel's war strategy & Netanyahu's criminality are precisely why Hamas is still in control of Gaza despite dropping the equivalent of multiple nukes' worth of explosive ordinance on the Strip. A continuation of the war would do nothing but kill civilians & fail to dislodge Hamas
1164
Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 15/01/2025
A real "journalist" would not rush to fanaticize about Israel's annihilation before the ceasefire even starts. Instead of inspiring hope for recovery, talking about Hamas's role in the disaster, saying let's never repeat this mistake ever again, she's looking forward to more war!

Hamas will regain control of Gaza even while the IDF is there, just as fast as the Taliban took over Afghanistan before the US completed the withdrawal. They are literally remerging from displacement tents, as you can see in the 1st video, with uniforms, insignia, vehicles & guns

So Gaza won, even though it experienced genocide, due to the glory of the resistance despite 10s of 1000s dead & utter destruction. Hamasniks in the US & the West are the enemies of the Palestinian people & deserve contempt/ridicule for spreading chaos, hate & violent extremism.

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 15/01/2025
How can Hamas glorify the military head of a terror organization that was hiding in the displacement zone & whose assassination by Israel caused over 200 civilian casualties? Make clueless, traumatized children chant, "we're the children of Mohammed el-Deif" Psychopathic fascists

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 15/01/2025
You'll see an endless amount of footage pouring out of Gaza; some of it disturbing, some manipulative, some understandable - you'll see children being instructed to chant certain slogans that caused their misery & destruction. You'll see bad actors using traumatized people for propaganda.

As part of the ceasefire deal in Gaza, when Hamas hands over Israeli hostages to the Egyptian side, and unlike the first ceasefire in November 2023, the terror group must not be allowed to parade hostages in front of hundreds of people in curtainless cars as part of a public spectacle.

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib @afalkhatib.bsky.social · 15/01/2025
As I predicted yesterday, Hamas's rats are emerging out of the tunnels, they're putting on their military uniforms, they’re no longer hiding among civilians, & because they have nothing to show for the destruction & disaster they caused, they're leaning into 'divine victory' claims.

Never has an outgoing & an incoming administration coordinated so closely to make something happen like the Gaza-Israel ceasefire/hostage deal, set to begin Sunday, 1/19. Lots remains uncertain, but there's finally hope that the absence of war can allow for a better path forward.
